Videos running mad choppy on the computer

stuff like vimeo, youtube HD, even regular youtube, and any other video player you can think of.  I'm wondering why? and how do i fix this shit yo?

quit all programs that are running besides your internet browser, If that doesnt work you probably dont have enough ram for the computer to play the video smoothly.

if this recently just started happening then chances are you got some nasty spyware sucking performance and RAM from your computer. virus scan that shit and check out the processes to make sure nothing is sucking your memory.

i used 5 or 6 different spyware remover programs, removed every infection found, and videos are still running choppy.

if by partially take apart your computer you mean take the case off, press a little release tab on the ram modules (correct term?) then yes, and if by repair you mean go and get better ram (512mb, 1gb, 2gb at most probably) then yes. Its not that big of a problem except that you will have to spend a little money to fix it.

Try to pause the videos to load/buffer completely before you play them, this could help. If that doesn't help its probably a RAM issue as stated earlier.

ahhhhhhhh im having the exact same problem..... but i dont get it, cause my videos would always play smoothly.. and yeah now the audio skips and the video like pauses for a second, even when the video or song is on my hard drive... its lame.com

Stop downloading pr0n noob..
turn off hardware acceleration, run a spyware/malware/antivirus check
clear all cookies and the registry.

download ccleaner (crap cleaner), it helps a lot.

chapz:  we seem to have the exact same problem and its FUCKING annoying when i'm trying to watch videos!
allen:  the hardware acceleration button thing was unchecked to begin with unfortunately, any other advice?
atypical:  i have run about 5 or so spyware/malware/antivirus programs today including CCleaner, Ad-Aware, Spybot - Search & Destroy, and a couple others.

The thing that confuses me most is that this is an all-of-a-sudden occurrence.  Like a couple weeks ago.  This leads me to believe that its something with spyware but as i've said I used like 5 different removal programs and I still got this bugger.  We don't download much stuff on this computer, its basically just used for internet, word documents, the occasional jibbin sessi0n.  What if I deleted some bigger files on my computer?  Or maybe a large volume of Word documents?  Would that help?

Thanks so much for everyone trying to help.  You know what I sent your way (even you allen)!

there's gotta be somthing running in the background thats taking up most of your resources. Did you download / install anything recentely? Programs, large amounts of files...etc?

I had the same problem on my laptop, unfortunately I had to reformat.

CHAPZ:  try out allen's advice!  go here: http://netsquirrel.com/msconfig/ and once you click which type of windows you have, use the link to the website that helps you choose which ones to keep checked and unchecked, its sooooo key.  hope it works for you.  i feel, i mean felt, your pain!  (clear your spyware too if you haven't already, it can't hurt)
