Probaly going to MSU next year so just wondering what..

mountain i should get a seasons pass for. I love to ski park the most (my home mountain is snoqualmie.) but i also love skiing BC pow and tree shizz? What do you think i would enjoy more, Bridger bowl or big sky?

unless big sky steps up their game in the next year, if your looking at park, take a good look at moonlight....their park always sounds so legit. i don't know how the season passes for big sky and moonlight work but i'm guessing if you have one you could get a cheaper ticket at the other maybe

well, if you want jibs/rails go to moonlight. if you want jumps you have no choice but big sky.

but if you want park you want one of the lone peak resorts no matter what. if you can foot the bill, just get the combo pass, then you get EVERYTHING

well i think the bus only goes to big sky and bridger..so thats something i have to think about...it would be hard to bum rides everytime

actually the bus only goes to big sky and moonlight, there isn't a bus to bridger. The debate has been made several times on these boards...personally i would go either bridger or big sky. get a beacon if you go to bridger and also remember that most of the kids in the dorms go to bridger so it's a good way to make friends. good luck.

get a pass at both bridger and moonlight, yea it might be expensive, but you would have the best of both worlds

no, its like 550 i think. but depending on when you turn 19 if your quick to get it you can get it at the junior rate.

That's a frequent skier card. If you're 18, a pass to bridger would be $420.

no....you could get a frequent skier card for 30, which would give you a discount on a pass every time you went there

Bridger Bowl is a natural terrain park.  If you want to learn to throw down on natural features, go there.  Go to big sky if you want high speed quads and terrain park jumps.  If terrain park isn't so much of an issue, it seems pretty obvious that bridger is the better choice.  Of course, I have a biased opinion because I have been skiing Bridger my whole life.

Terrain quality and accessibility used to be kind of a draw between Bridger and Big Sky, just because almost all the good terrain at Bridger required hiking.  Now that the new lift is open, there is absolutely no comparison between the two.  If you want to ski big, techy lines and hit cliffs, Bridger is by far your best option...same goes for backcountry access.  The only thing Big Sky has going for it is a terrain park and faster lifts (that access groomers when they aren't broken).

And yes, I do ski Bridger, but I have also lived here almost my entire life and spent a season working at Moonlight.  It's not bias or convenience that keeps me riding there, it's just because it is a better mountain.  If a terrain park is really important to you, then disregard everything I have to say--although I would strongly encourage taking advantage of what the mountains have to offer in this area.

damn...boxes, rails and nice jumps are pretty important to me...but bridger just sounds like the place to ski if you go to msu...so are there any boxes/rails at bridger?

Don't get me wrong, Big Sky is still a sweet mountain to ski, it's just that if you're really into freeride tyep stuff Bridger is much better.  The park at Bridger is pretty "limited", so if you value that kind of skiing you would be much better off at Big Sky/Moonlight.

there are actually some boxes and rails....no jumps though. like he said earlier there's a ton of natural terrain. nothing too amazing but people had fun on them last year. however, don't expect to hit them unless it hasn't snowed for awhile..... i would say get a pass at bridger and then once you make your friends and stuff see what they're doing during your sophomore year.

alright guys well thanks for the help and hopefully ill see you next year...ill be checking msu out on the 29th and also the mountains..blue or red pants with brown jacket and white helmet..anyone know where i can get a ns sticker?
