Anthem v Invader

i'm lookin to throw down for a new pair of planks since the edges on my rossi scratch FS are starting to go (big surprise)

its a toss up for me between the Line Anthem & Invaders. I realize the anthem is a wider and slightly stiffer ski but the invader is more wallet-friendly.

i haven't had the chance to ger my hands on a pair of anthems, since the only ski shop near me doesn't carry them, but i did get to take a look at the invaders and i was impressed with how light and soft they were. the anthems are a little wider than what i'm used to, but i've been reading the reviews and they seem like a pretty solid ski all around.

i'm about 6'1" 185lbs and i'm wondering which ski the NS community would recommend for me since i dont have the luxury of testin em out

At how big you are, I think the ANthem would be the better call...

The Invader would be a bit too squirrley for you, I think...

Anthems are a bit more durable too from what I've read, but maybe thats just me reading wrong.

well what are you skiing, like what terrain and how much of said terrain.

ex, 70% park, 10% pow, 10% allmountain

i'd probably go with the anthems if your riding a little bit of all mountain
I find that the invaders are more of an eastcost ski were the anthems are like an everything ski |so imo i'd say the anthems and like the guy said,
im pretty sure the anthems are more durable aswell

yea i live on the east coast and do a fair amount of jibbing...i dont see myself hitting 60ft jumps anytime soon since im still recovering from a torn meniscus

i rarely leave the park since my home mountain is covered in gapers

well i just got invaders and i also ski the east, 90% park 10% allmountain as well. The only time i ski more all mountain is when i go on school trips to good resorts that have other terrain. I think the invaders might be fine for you but anthems wouldnt hurt if you dont mind the extra $$

well i'd say invaders by what you've been describing about your skiing. however, you're a big guy and im not sure the invaders would hold up on you. dont take my word, im no expert, just every1 i see riding invaders are usually small/average sized people. i have anthems (140lbs 5'10") and they're still super fun in park. anthems to you might feel like invaders to a normal person

O man I had the same dilemma as you. But I chose the invaders. You don't really need a 90 something under foot on the east coast and the Invaders are butterlicious and so sick. Seems like line is the only ski company that's putting new innovative technology into their skis like the butter zones and carbon olliband make them soo popppy and buttery. But they do delamn quick if your sredding park. Like first day they'll delam a bit but meh doesnt really bug me. And you can't beat the price so id say go for invaders.

ya i've been on my anthems 12 days and i can already see the wood core in one spot about 3" long. crazy delam, but as long as it doesnt ruin my ski i dont really care

im 6'2 155lbs and just got 178 anthems after having the same debate as you, im like 70 - 30 park - rest,  mostly messing around on my way to park, drops natural hits etc.  they are real fun, i feel like they are a perfect match for me, rails and boxes got like 40 % better, and random mesing around and fun increased by like 300 %, and they are stabble enough to haul on the way to the park too, if there is a massive gaperlanche at your mtn.  personally i say get lots of opinions and check reviews and get shop opinions, but overall go with your gut.  i think either ski will be a blast, havnt riden invaders though, so i dont know if washing out would be an issue

oh, and d-structure has ridic. deals on last years of both, like 172 and 228 plus 21 shipping

yea i dont think i would have too much of a problem washing out...i used the have the old skool Line Skogen Pros which were like havin cardboard strapped to your feet so ski flex isnt much of an issue for me
