Use of the word "Hero"

I just watched a commercial for whatever next golf event is coming up, but in referred to one or several of the golfers as being heros.  Complete bull shit.  A grown man that hits a white ball off a tee is not a hero.  The use in that context is a perversion of the word and those who actually are heros.  A firefighter rushing into a burning building to save someone he/she doesnt know is a hero.  A golfer is an over paid "idol" not a hero.

I agree. i think a hero should make a compromise to himself to help others, not be paid to do what he likes and happen to save others in the process without it being the original intention. heros are selfless, not selfish

definitely agree, tiger woods is a rich guy with a hot wife... he could be an idol, not a hero

i saw some five year old kid on little carving skis hit a jump, get about six feet of air, make some weird little yelping sound at his peak height, and then faceplant from six feet up. i yelled from the chairlift "you're my hero!"
is this acceptable?

anyone the preforms acts of gaperism in the park deserves a "your my hero" . "Do a back flip" or any other phase similar to that  shouted at them from the chair.

a super hero! hes double the hero since aparently golfers are heros and well he saved a baby, probably from a crocodile since it happened while he was golfing so id say hes a super hero

i did that when i was little, but i think i made the yelping noise when i hit the ground as i knocked the wind out of myself.
