As of sunday the 11th, KB has 3 jumps set up, as well as the rails/boxes that have been set up since the park has opened...the jumps are on the left hand side, where the small tables were last year, but they are a little bigger this year. The first one is about a 15ft table, the second is a 15ish foot step down gap type thing, and the last is a 15-20ft gap....all of them have very nice lips(until the gapers start venturing into the park) and they kick you pretty far and high if you get the speed right....i undershot the 1st gap and cased the knuckle real bad doing a 5, so i left early because the pain started to kick in
by the end on sun night the 1st booter had a huge hole/rut in the landing so now gapers need only travel 5 feet to make it to the landing, the second "jump" has been rode over so much that it is now a drop in for the 3rd hit, which is too scary for the gapers and it is in good shape, but super easy to over shoot if you dont make 10 speed checks .
1) its not really a park update, but they plan to leave part of miseltoe ungroomed so it gets bumps http://www.kbski.com/news/article/2009/01/13/100032/mistletoe-ungroomed
2) andy (kb website manager) has asked me to write him an email about park updates that he can post on the site. if you guys have anything you want me to add, let me know.
kb is doin work on the park!....they removed that mini park from the top of twister, and put that c box down near the rainbow, as well as the trap rail....they also moved the red down rail further up to where the FDF was.....and they OPENED the jib park on world....its pretty cool...they have an up flat rail at the top with a nice drop at the end so you can do some big spins off of it, then they have a rainbow rail, and then a pretty big quarterpipe/wallride/stall thing with one of those black culvert pipes on top of it, then a real smooth down rail. All in all, i am pretty impressed with what kb is doing....on a side note, i was at HV last night, and WOW, they have 9 rails/boxes set up on foxfire, and it is REAL sick
Good to hear they are slowly but surely starting to realize that their terrain as was in the past left a lot to be desired and decided to let some things bump up!
Now they just need to get into those woods and trim some glades out and they will have improved the place leaps and bounds!
30 runs that are 100% identical from the top straight down the fall-line will not keep you in business these days.
speaking of glades, they did in fact trim out some trees where that woods trail used to be on the farthest north slope (cant remember what its called) and made it an alright glades run...its pretty slow, but its nice to ski around some trees without having to watch for angry ski patrollers
yup. they have a mini rail park thats real nice. rainbow box thats real nice, sick flat box, 6 foot flat bar, up flat, flat-down-flat. all pretty easy stuff
As of March 4th, the park has undergone some huge changes....to the left, is a mellow cannon rail made from one of those yellow tubes...then, a down rail made from the same kind of tube, then the 3rd mini table...its got some nice kick to it, and a much better landing...they did some serious work to make it nice. the c rail and the up flat down are where they have been. Down the middle of the park, it starts with the red down rail as before, then goes into a big culvert pipe stall like the one they had in the freedom park, then to a real nice tire jib. on the right, there is only a big tube jib thing, with one of the big black culvert pipes sticking straight out of the ground. then, on the drop in to devil's funnel, where the cannon rail used to be, is the jesus...a 40ish ft long wave box thing(like a double rainbow) that i have never seen before; it looks too nice to be at kb, with a whale tale on the end so you can pop major spins off of it. below, where the first large table used to be, (im real mad they took it away) is a cannon box, and next to it, a small jump onto a hip transfer. lastly, the same money booter as before, but it is shaped a little better. all in all, its a pretty dope setup...some of the features were not yet completed while i was there, but i think they should be by the weekend...the park is set up more for jibbing than for doing tech tricks, but it is real fun
I KNOW!!!! I HAVE TRACK AT SCHOOL AND I CANT GET OUT ANYMORE!! IT SUCKS
i have notified andy that i wont be able to do regular updates anymore, so he should do something about it. you should email him that whole thing you typed. he would probably put it up
