When you see a kid in the park who's got some real steezy LOOKING style (like his outfit or w/e) but can't do much trick wise, does that annoy you? Kinda like posing a little?

fashoooo, I rock the 20$ pants, cotton black majik gloves, tall tee and huge dickies pea coat. coast like like 50$ total, baggy as hell , warm and its good to know i didnt drop 500$ on outerwear. so much more money for other things

I love it when im better then those kids that spend tons of money on their "outfit" and gear. But i dont like those kids cus they contribute to skiing bieng like snowboarding has become.

Nothing wrong with buying quality gear that will last a long time.  I'm not into the whole huge/baggy clothes thing.. but my outerwear was expensive.  I just started skiing again and don't know ANY tricks yet... but I'm trying... last thing I need is people hating on me for wearing nice stuff to the mountain.

im fine with it, in any sport, sking bmx whatever, but it just annoys me when they get all this tight gear and then just sit around and take up space,  esp in bmx at parks, if your going to sit there and not talk or try anything then get out and make room for those who are actually trying.  im ok with people rockin steeze out of the park too, because they are for the most part trying to rip or killin it, but same thing applies, if you arent riding and or trying, then go home.

yea i know what you mean man, tore my acl and my knee is still real weak so i still ski through the park with my friends but i dont hit anything yet but low rails, impacts hurt.  i still have all my ridiculous outerwear tho and people probably think im a poser noob haha

i suck when it comes to park, i honestly have not even tried to progress in the past couple years at all. i might hit a box or a jump every now and then, but i usually have the best gear that i can get because i want it. nothin wrong with having dope shit and sucking ass unless your bragging about yourself, which i dont.

 but this year im actually going to make an attempt to learn new things, just because now i have a couple guys who i ride with that kill it, and push me to become better. i just wish i lived somewhere with a huge mtn and powder, you would never see me in the park.

baha ya dude, i like to think of myself as a park skier who throws down pretty hard in the park. but the other day at whistler i was paying so much attention to my speed and every little thing that i would just fuck up so badly, like on an up box i couldnt decide if i wanted to jump on from the left side of the jump or the right so i just did a gaper jump off the side and didnt hit the rail. not a good combo for me.

nah dude i just hate it when the little kids fall on the lips in the big parks, and when the good kids are douche bags because just cause you good doesn't make you better than every one else...so for all you cool kids out there making fun of the kids that aren't as good...your not that awesome yourself

It doesn't make a difference.
If they wear complete shit or they are decked out, if they're out there skiing it doesn't really matter.
Who knows, being horrible and having nice gear might make them feel more comfortable, and more "welcome" to the hill. Unlike wearing a one piece that gives you a fattie moose knuckle, it would make you feel uncomfortable and could make your perform worse...

Either way if you have a problem with someone dressing nicer than you, and being worse than you... then you have too much time on your hands to worry about something small like that.

Yea, everyone has to start somewhere.
What kinda annoys me though is when noobs have the nicest, most expensive gear that they totally don't need...i.e. a beginner in the park rocking '09 Dumonts with sth16 bindings, SPK pro boots, etc. That's probably too much ski for thm to handle, and would in fact learn faster if they had a beginner setup, rather than the higest end, most expensive gear. Kinda spoiled and unnessescary IMO...but watever

I'm a little bit of a noob when it comes to the park and I always get so self conscience when i go there cause I work all summer to get new stuff and feel like people are judging me because of my new stuff. I'm glad to hear that people don't judge you because of what you wear and now I can go out throw down as hard as I can without worrying about being dissed.

this is my mentality, but i just try hard, even when i fall, people give me tips. like when i used to snowboard, i was trying to do a 50-50 180 out, i kept falling, and this pro dude all in his steezy outfit and shit came up and taught me all this shit on how to land it, and i did it. then i stopped snowboarding.

It pisses me off more to see someone who's given in to the generic newschooler look. ie. super tall-t with a gigantic sweater over top, maybe an open jacket. Honestly, form before function is lame.
If you're good, you don't need to TRY to look good with outerwear.

I agree with a lot of whats being said.  You have to remember though, a lot of these younger kids are really impressionable.  They want to fit in.  To do that, its easier to "look the part".  Advertising has a lot to do with it too.  Its no different then some kid buying some superstars line of basketball shoes. If a kids rocking top end gear its because his parents bought it for him and some ass of a salesman said the kid needed it.
 If their attitude is good then who cares.  If they are a dick then I don't care what they are wearing...they're a dick. It bothers me just as much when people brag about not spending any money on gear.  Yea, you got your jacket at a thrift shop for $20, lets see how it holds up to 40+ days a year and powder days.  I buy nice gear because its functional, well made and looks good.  I'll agree if you go ride rails all day in the park when the suns out and its 35+ degrees you don't need expensive gear, you could get away with a sweatshirt but if you like powder, tree skiing and bumps then you want something that wont get soaked, ripped or restrict your movement. If you flat out can't afford it, its totally different and more power to you for shredding in sub-par gear.

agreed. my bike cost around £300 or $500 altogether and i love it. throw it about all over place and when i see people on iron horse's who daren't do anything it pisses me right off cause i'd kill for a bike like that but unfortunatly i'm rather poor lol

i have a 1200 dollar bike and really kind of dislike it cause the best mountain around here would be killington...or i could drive 3 hours to mountain creek....i didn't do any reaserch on bikes that i wanted so now im stuck with a freeride bike that im riding slopestyle with its noot a bad thing its just really heavy and hard to throw around like on 3's and shit....it good when i go down hill or do som 30 ft drops

i was on pinkbike, until i realized NS was there too.

sorry, it's just that the only link on iron horses site that doesn't work is the team one, and if you google max hill, you get a skier, and if you google max hill iron horse, you don't get shit. besides the fact that i've never seen an iron horse in competition.

and why does ironhorse only have one dh bike this year? all the other companies are building more and more bikes and now all ironhorse has got is the sunday, which is a race bike. they don't even have a freeride bike...i'm so confused.
