or the only lift that goes to to the top of the mountain breaking down yesterday and not being open till next saturday. that makes me mad. we got like...a foot and a half of snow last night too. its heartbreaking. kinda a buzzkill especially cause today was a snowday.
the road that takes you up little cottonwood canyon to snowbird/alta is the most avalanche prone road in the nation.

it is frequently shut down after big dumps, but as much as it sucks, i would rather wait for them to bomb then get swept off by a slide, especially with the instability of the snowpack lately.
I live at Mt hood and the only reason our pass has ever closed for is major flooding and landslides. For the most part if theres 5 ft of snow and the plows cant get out your on your own.
