I thought this was worth mentioning... there's traffic court all day every day of the week, the cops just don't show up because you have a case that day. If you don't specifically subpeona the officer (beforehand) he's not gonna show up, cuz you didnt ask him to. And its not going to make a damn bit of difference. You might as well subpeona the officer, even if you're going to lose, because if he doesn't show up, it will be dismissed (most likely, not necessarily) and if he does show up, he'll be really pissed off because you ruined his day. so at least you'll get a little bit of justice.
You will also want to file for discovery right away(this is the evidence against you including the copy of the ticket and the officers sworn statements) if you file on time and this doesn't show up in your mail you have a chance at getting off.
Also, go up the clerk before it is your turn in court and ask them if there is a radar certification on file. If there isn't one for this year, move to dismiss on "the fact that the radar certification is either not up to date/not on file"
These things have worked for me.
I got all this info from a good friend of mine who got some 20 odd speeding tickets of his own dismissed outright, he was a maniac driver. He passed away last week, may his memory live on.
