Or any other antibacterial shit. You dont need it. It would be nice if we didnt all get sick all the time, but getting sick gives us antibodies to fight off diseases. Yes, using antibacterial wipes and all will kill the bacteria in your home that can cause illness (rarely), but every time you spray one of those cans you play the role of a gigantic bacterial-world meteor and kill off all the non-resistant bacteria, letting the survivors propegate. Humans are selecting bacterial species that are resistant to our ways of killing them. We are creating monsters.

Stop using that shit. Yes, it needs to be used in hospitals, but seriously, in your home? Whats better, keeping your kid in a sterile environment or getting them sick a few times and never have to worry about germs ever again?

Dont buy antibacterial soaps, sprays or anything. Avoid it. Your body is covered in bacteria anyways, and most of them are harmless or even helpful.

what about alcohol hand solution for after using shitty roadside toilets? is that bad too? or should we embrace the hobo germs?

I see where you're coming from with the unnecessary antibacterial stuff in homes. people should get over it already. workplaces is kinda different to your home though, theres often alot of people, some with questionable hygiene.

I use a bitchin coffee cup at work thats engraved in my name and "The Princeton Review" because I work for them part time. Nobody fucks with it.

Sweet, I will just let staph grow in my shower then.  Can't you ever be normal?  Do you SERIOUSLY think that using Lysol renders you TOTAL protection from germs????  That is just a ridiculous thing to say, every piece of it.

i got sick a bunch my freshman and sophomore years from living in a dorm with 800 new people and their diseases.

now im graduated i have yet to take a sick day from work.

um how about in moderation? i agree not everything needs to be sterilized every second of every day, but at some point you do need to clean shit up and get it clean...

lol i figured this thread would be about some environmental horror the creators of lysol committed.

yeah i know what you mean man people are so OCD nowadays that they need their disinfectant wipes and godd forbid they leave the house without purell!! i hate it getting sick sucks but its a part of life we can't avoid without concequences the more we use things like antibacterials and antibiotics the harmful bacteria simply figure a way to overcome our "defense" and become stronger our body needs to be sick so it can become accustomed to fighting the illnesses

o hey, in the summer i work at a park, literally cleaning shitters. and if we didnt use the heaviest duty cleaners on those bathrooms every day, i doubt you, or any other sane human would want to go into them let alone use on... talk to me after you have cleaned shit off floors, shit off walls, i have found shit on play ground slides... now would you rather i wipe that up with water? or "dissenfect" it?

i think your body is just not used to the pain and is accustomed to having the pain numbed so it feels more intense but in theory it is about the same if your talking about a headache or something

I'm down with not using the sprays or anything, but not using antibacterial hand soap is a bit different. Specifically after taking a shit, because that kind of bacteria is not ok to be spreading around your house and getting in everyone's food and stuff like that.

I agree with you. We are creating a huge problem when people use antibacteral cleaners for everything. It's going to be a while, but it's kinda like natural selection, the few bacteria that are immune to these antibacteral cleaners, and it's a very small precent, are going to live on, and over long enough time they will make up the majorty. Now the majorty are going to be immune to antibacteral cleaners. We will have to find a new way to control these bacterias, and hope there is another way, other wise we will be in a lot of trouble in the future.

Right now we are having the same type of trouble on golf courses controling certain types of dieases. To put this very simple. We used to spary for diease "x" with Fungicide "b". When we first started doing this we would wipe out 99% of the diease, but the immune ones would still live on. The amount of immune "x" was hard to see, cause they didnt' make up a large populations. Go 15 years plus later, and the population of immune "x" is so high, you can notice it, so here isn't a good way to control the diease anymore. So only use things when you have to, so you don't over use them. Cause now we are forced to rotate fungicides around to get anykind of decent control, and it's no longer simple.

no, what we really need to stop doin is going to the doctor and demanding anitbiotics for rhino virus. all its doin is makin the next generation of the virus stronger. just lay low, drink some tea, smoke a fatty, and stfu. colds really arent a big deal.

i know kids who use the alcohol hand cleanser, disinfectant spray, etc... and they seem to get sick A LOT more than I do.

I'd be careful even with antibacterial soap. Try this article - just remembered reading it a while ago.

Sparknotes - in most cases, normal soap works fine for removing microbes and dirt. Antibacterial soap amplifies resistant mutations and can be a contaminant. Unless you absolutely need a sterile environment, normal soap should suffice.

pretty much, humans are too clean. my friend got a crazy drug resistant staff infection on his leg and they almost had to amputate it.
there are a ton more cases of diseases like this as well.

Did you just tell people to stop using soap?  I'm pretty sure all soap is anti-bacterial and thats the point.

what people dont realize is that bacteria is everywhere, like actually everywhere.

covers the keyboard your typing on, your clothing, every square inch of your body, its all over your house.

If you have a serious problem use a steam cleaner, which will kill pretty much any bacteria(exluding those fucked up archaebacteria that love heat..)

i keep telling this to people but nobody listens. the bacteria that is left behind builds immunity to the lysol, and mutates accordingly to become a supergerm. and yeah the less bacteria you are exposed to the weaker your immune system will be.

i use lysol on my chair because my sister comes back from riding and then sits in my chair and makes my chair smell like a fucking horse. that's all i use it for. i'm not going to stop because i hate it when my chair smells like a horse.
