i have very low selfesteem and i have learned how to fit in. i want to be part of an original life style so i have chosen that of newschool skiing. everyone else here blazes so i figured i should give it a shot to get into it. my 16 year old mind is very impressionable.

cause i dont even smoke and im 19.

i like candles. cupcake scented candles are baller to use because then i can't smell my ski shit. my roomie like them too. plus i feel like a bad ass using candles when it breaks the rules in my dorm.

hmm well obviously there's people on ns who burn so i dont see why they ^^ had to be rude about a simple question (not hatin on the fact that they dont smoke, personal choice). 

Hmm I got really hammered on night and took what i thought was a cigar from my bud and lit it up and it turned out to be a fat blunt. then i decided i may as well try it again a couple times and i started burnin every now and then. i moved away for uni and i actually dont smoke up here too much but i find its a good way to hang out with my buds when i go home. i'll go back and we'll get drunk and party and stuff but then there's some nights where all you want to do is sit on the couch and just veg to a good movie and burnin always makes it more enjoyable. i also burn every now and then when i have trouble sleepin cuz goin to bed when high is prob one of my fave ways to sleeeeep.

hopefully thats good enough man.

god damn slang. not exactly. im just looking for some insight. cuz my little brother asked me why i did, and it hit me deep for some reason. i know alot of people do it for the fun of it or at parties, but there are those whom we call potheads as myself for whom it is practically a lifestyle.

as retarded as that sounds.

hes not trying to figure out why he does it, he knows why he does it. hes simply asking why others do it because everyones story is going to be different and hes interested in that.

i do it because i am able to clear my mind and take a step back and look past all the artificial bullshit that is so common these days. i started smoking because i needed an out, a place to get away. i was labeled a pot head before i had even taken my first toke. it has helped me through depression and it taught me tobe myself and accept things as they are, the love and the hate, the good and the bad.

its funny this reminds me of my bud tho, he used to be an uptight lil prick all through middle school and in highschool he was the same but not as bad. in grade 12 he started smokin ganj and he totally chilled out. now he's in uni and gettin better marks then he ever got in highschool and burnin every day.  it changed him for the better and he says he burns to have some fun, to relax and sometimes to be able to step out of his uptight shell and meet some new people.

and i know what you mean man, i used to be a depressive person, always worried about what would happen the next day. weed really made me begin looking long term and has made me a much better person overall. it gives you a carefree quality of life, it helps you get alot done and frankly attracts most people to you.

hahaha well i wouldnt say people are attracted to me.

my mother passed away when i was going into highschool younger, i bottled it up. i used to be the most hyperactive ADD kid at my school, never made grades always getting into some shit. when i started smoking it definitely changed me for the better. i was able to focus and mellow out. it helped me work out a great deal of my problems emotionally and psychologically. i am very happy with the person i have become, and as long as i am happy with myself. i dont feel the need to prove myself to others only to me.

I used to smoke quite a bit for reasons I honestly can't explain... except that I was a bit ADHD as a youngster so weed helped me mellow out a lot. At some point it just got excessive, like around first year of University basically for some strange novelty factor. Now that I had cheap BC bud all I did was smoke the fattest blunts I could twist every single night. In retrospect, this was ludacris behavior. I mean fuck... I spent like 6 or 7 grand on bud in a year. This is fucking retarded. Had a lot of fun, but fuck me, I could've gone heli skiing.... a lot.
So I quit.
For like a month.
Now I've cut back a lot but I still smoke these days, 2-3 days a week I'd say but for different reasons then before. I blaze usually by myself (save the occasional powder day j) late night, after the party. after the gf is in bed because hot damn there is nothing better than getting cooked and playing video games or watchin tv at the end of the day.

There are many reasons to why I (and others) smoke. My main reason is i really like being high. Your under the influence of something that wont get you sick, that makes you happy, and most likely will give you a positive 'buzz'. It's hard to explain being high because everyones is different. When people ask what being high is like, i tell them to try it; they have to see what its like for themselves.

On that note, i've smoked a couple of times at the mountain and never once regreted it. Very cool experience

good question...the first time i blazed was with a friend soph. year of highschool. I actually realized that if i did smoke it would be a huge change point in my life...i blazed up and over the course of the last year or so i smoked off and on when it was available, but always with friends and never by myself. Last summer was when i really started to party alot and so i blazed quite frequently for me atleast, like 3 or 4 days a week...did this all summer and into senior year (now) but decided to cut back for the winter because i xc race. Some weekends early on this year i'd get blazed like 4 or 5 times in 2 days. I'll def. go back to some stage of that when skiing is over, and def. in college...I guess i burn because its available to me, i can always split it with friends, i can have an amzing good time in the process, and it also makes me feel pretty good. that what you're looking for...btw im not a dumbass and it diddnt seem to affect my grades and didnt make me slack off...3.4 GPA and ive got into UVM...so noone can say it makes u dumber or lazy

I smoke to relieve stress, but its kind of a catch 22 cuz the world around doesn't accept it, ie cops/job/family... and having run ins with all three its more  of a cause of stress than a relief. taking a break from the ganja warrior lifestyle for a while i guess.

One of my tattoos says "let it burn", for reason one...reason two is it helps my back when I can't sleep, reason three is It controls my eating habits (although when I first started I ate down the effin house), reason four is that it helps the stress level at work, and reason five... Its fun to be high

Word. I never smoked in middle school or high school but so many people thought I was a huge stoner. Got my locker searched in 8th grade. Got called a pot head by a teacher when I was 16. Now Im in college smoke every now and again and have never had a better relationship with teachers and classmates. Weird how the roles have reversed.

hah everyone in middle school assumed i was a stoner, i moved on to highschool it was exactly the same. the funny thing is i was against smoking dope up till grade 11 and never touched the shit at all till then. now i enjoy it and shit but i find it funny that people automatically assumed i was a pothead when i was the opposite in the start.

Weed saved my life.  Before weed I was overweight, uncool, could not get girls, unconfident, and all around a loser/little bitch.  All I did was play video games and watch TV.

Since I started smoking weed I am pretty physically fit, lots of girls want to sleep with me, I'm interesting, my grades went up, I play musical instruments, I have tons of friends, I do better at work, I went to India to live in the Himilaya's and teach english in a one room schoole house which was 30 mins from the nearest paved surface, I have awesome taste in music, I write short stories and screen plays, I had a small paying role in a movie, etc etc etc etc etc.

So essentially, before weed I was lame, now I'm awesome.  I think if I quit smoking herb now I would still be awesome but if I had never started I would still be a fat loser.  I wouldn't even ski as much if I didn't blaze.  I still would, but I certainly wouldn't have a season pass.

Also I'm a little bit on an alcoholic but herb really helps me to keep myself in check and only drink a couple times a week.  Also I can't drink as much when I'm high.

Plus drugs make you cool so theres always that.

It opens a whole new world. I like it because I get super creative. I also hear "voices" and different opinions from inside my head which has made me come to the conclusion that we all have different levels of our mind. I can't explain it now because I'm not stoned enough but basically one level tells you something while the other level elaborates on it and so on and so forth until you can break down everything or have many different opinions on something. I also smoke because it's fun and I like to be high.

it makes crappy movies easier to watch. it makes sex feel better. it makes food taste better. it makes video games more fun.

i guess it just enhances my experiences. i don't blaze often, but when i do, i always have a good time. so for me, i blaze when i want to turn something that could be shitty into something that i know will be good.
