Replying to Any tips for an expert skier just starting out in the park?

Need4Speed:
Hey all, I'm 26... been skiing since I was 5. Needless to say, I know what I'm doing on the hill. That said, I've never tried jumps or rails or anything like that. I'm just wondering if you guys have any tips for starting out in the park, what to try, what not to try... basically any info to help a very advanced skier become legit in the park.

The last couple of times I've gone to the hill I've tried out some jumps, but find myself overshooting (too much speed) them a lot, and washing out at the bottom. I'm definitely just not used to controlling my weight in the air or any of that.

I am a big time speed skier... I NEVER turn... and pretty much spent most of my adult life just mashing hills as fast as possible. That was the extent of my pushing the envelope... but now it's time to jump and start doing some serious tricks.

I have practiced skiing backwards, and I think I'll get that down pretty quick... but just let me know what you guys can as for how to approach jumping/rails.. or whatever you think I should know!

Thanks guys. (Sorry for the big back story but I feel like if you know where I'm coming you can answer my questions better.)
