NEW RULE

If someone has shin bang or toe bang and makes a thread about it, asking for help, simply posting:

"Full Tilt!"

or

"get full tilt!"

is not an answer, its not even worth posting. No boot fits anyone perfectly and we cant go around perscribing full tilts as the universal cure for every boot problem.

It makes newschoolers look bad, and I just know some young and impressional kids have actually gone and bought full tilts off protorjones or wherever without even trying them on because this forum has a huge hard on for them.

Im no boot fitting guru but I do know one boot can never fit every foot. So please NS, knock it off.

I've got Nordica BEASTS.
They are fucking awesome. No shin bang, just awesomeness.

But yeah I agree. There's no one "super boot".

Not IMO.
I fit Salomon well because of the "narrower" heel. Spk's are roomy, but were still snug enough to last me 2 seasons. Full tilts are pretty much like the old pro model last from the heel up, super narrow in the heel, and nice and snug in the toe box. I will get the heel punched out, and maybe the toe... but the intuition liner is so plush Im sure if I work them in a good amount, it wont be a huge difference for me personally. My feet are weird, I can fit any boot as long as the length is good.

Theyre super easy to get on and off, and I am not using a foot bed, which I like a lot, and with the longer bale they feel just that much better.

gotta be honest, if i needed new boots, first ones i would try on would be FT, second would be SPKs.

but the solution to shinbang is to not ride backseat, not boots (although good boots might help a little bit).

Actually Full Tilt boots can and will cure everybody's boot problems because they have an intuition liner which is a heat molded liner that conforms to your foot creating a custom and most natural fit.

well they recommend it... no footbed they say. Can if you want, but not necessary.
My foot stays put, and there is great response to the shell and out through the ski. yay.

I think that is why they kept the fit of the boot narrow.

with new intuition liners they recommend not using footbeds, but that lots of people use them without issue.  just depends on your foot

yeah, the foot beds didnt work for me... I figure they would come with some, or offer some if they were actually a "need" but theyre not. I had superfeet, and like em better without, I feel a better response. I suppose you just should have an open mind about it.

Whats the point of writing it off because you have always had and heard that you cant ski without them?

I got the recomendation, and ran with it.

i agree the intuition liner is nice but the boot's shape certainly does not fit my foot. WEAR WHAT FITS YOU, or you might as well sit in the lodge all day

I have a rampage with an inuition and can not use a footbed as it takes up too much volume. Also the foam on the full tilt liners includes the bottom of the liner unlike a conventional liner. I found I had no 'feel' through the bottom of my foot with both footbed and intuition, so now ski without the footbed. way warmer than a standard liner and more comfortable.

Pick up a pair of full tilt liners and then pick up a power wrap. My guess is you will immedeatly feel the difference.  
Overall the full tilt liners do not provide the same amount of support that the power wrap does, plus they break down much quicker. Most full tilt liners will probably wear out in half the time of a power wrap.
The Liner in the konflict may be a better then the rest but all of the full tilt liners I have seen have been sub par.

Thats just the liner, If you want to read more on the worst excuse for a ski boot currently sold read on.

Lets start with the idea behind the three piece design.  The whole purpose of the design is to allow a soft forward flex while maintaining the the lateral stiffness of a race boot.   However the boot fails to do this as well as it could.  If you look at the hinge point between the spine and the lower, it is ridiculously high up on the boot.  Now pull out a pair of krypton's (same idea), you will notice how much lower the spine comes, this allows the boot to be much more laterally stiff like it is supposed to be.

Second big problem with the boot is the cables.  They do three things: they stretch, they break, and they put uneven pressure on the foot.

They Stretch, this causes them to be inconsistent in how tight they are when you buckle them.
They break, you have to buy new parts, often, why do you think they are the only boot seller to have individual boot parts  available to the public on their website.
And the uneven preasure they put on your instep and calf cause bad circulation which leads to cold feet.

They also have an insane amount of forward lean.  This was acceptable 20 years ago but is just a pain these days.

Complaint list that my friend affter he got full tilts affter I told him not too.
"My complaint list:

-Not stiff enough, and I have the #8 out of 2-9 stiffness tongues in there (higher is stiffer). Hitting large bumps at full speed shifts me way forward, there isn't enough support to deal it a big ski and a big kid. I need a boot I can trust, and these things suck in the trust department. I have to worry about my boots, and that can't fly when I'm skiing.

-Forward lean is overdone, it forces me to ski way (excessively) backseat to get tip rise in pow and prevent front flips everywhere else because of the softness, and bothers my knees.

-Fit is a little too big in the bottom, and pinches around the calf area.

-Buckle adjustment is a joke, they slide all over the place for no reason, it's difficult to maintain a constant pressure.

-Booster straps don't work quite as well as I'd like on there, but that's not the boots fault.

So yes, you were right and I made a crappy choice in boots. Return or sell will most likely be happening."

you can change the fit of the boot, you cannot change how it performs. the problem with full tilts come when someone has an inexperienced boot fitter or has purchased their boots online.

very exceptional circumstances though.. with that in mind 95% of the time you can make any boot fit comfortably on someones foot, just depends how much they are willing to pay.

Konflicts come with the power wrap liner and from what I hae been told is the exact same as the power wrap liner that you get from intuition.

There are lower end full tilt liners, just as their are lower end intuition liners.  If you are gonna pay for it, may as well get the best liner available.

I am in Konflicts now and like them, although they could definitely beefy the tongue up more.  8 is ok, but I seriously could use at least a 11-12 I bet.  I will eventually get the flex 9 tongue when I can afford it, but again, wish they were stiffer.

Other than that, I like them and have been in Flexons/Full Tilt for years.  I think I would like to at least try some different boots this year, though.

to me boots are the same as bindings. If you're not a fitter don't give shitty advice. Full tilts aren't for everyone, and if you convince someone to blow money on something that isn't right you're a fucker.
