Video out for iphone 3g

is there any cheap way to hook my iphone 3g up to a tv to watch videos? could i use my 3.5mm video cable for my video camera? i saw a component cable in the apple store but it was $50 and i dont want component video. any help??

i would have to assume its the same way to hook up your ipod video to your TV. you just need a cord with the three plug ins (the red white and yellow) on one end and the headphone jack on the other end.

I saw that these only work on old ipods cause apple wants u to buy their cables, I have a cable like for my cam and it didn't work

Just sack up and buy the Apple cable then. They're so worth it. I just put like 350 gigs of movies on my harddrive and am planning on getting the Apple Component so I can play all those movies off my iPod, and eventually iPhone when the time comes.

it'll be sick once they make like a 300gig iphone cause right now with 16 or 8gig that's like 10 or 15 full length movies and nothing else. aka not really worth it.

For now I just load up whatever movies I want onto my iPod before I watch it. Im basically using my iPod to take the place of a vcr/dvd. I want a 120g classic, just for movie storage, and an iPhone for everything else.
