Well I remember I think it was head that had that think that light up in the ski. and the old school Dyna stars that had a pice of hard plastic on the tip of the ski so they don't bounce...there has been so much crap in skis that does nothing.. What have you guys seen

in the k2's the light was a result of from the vibrations in the ski make elictricity and light up the bulb

it was to let you know that what ever was spose to take away the vibration would go through the light letting you kinow its working.

actually spaceframe does tons for the ski. not only does it shave off excess weight in the tip and tail, but it gives you torsional stability under the foot, and raises up a few mm, which puts you in a more agrresive position as you carve your turns.
I`m finally succeeding, and I owe it all to yes-I-cannibus.

the light shit was/is (on the Mod X K2 skis) bullshit, but the Beta stuff isn't bullshit, because it doesn't let the ski warp when you put it on edge so that the sidecut isn't fucked with.

Salomon space frame is bullshit. In theory it would work, reducing tip weight, while keeping the tips stiff. But They had to go and make it out of foam, so it breaks down.
Also, Salomon thrives on gimmicks and Image. For the kind of reputation and respect they get, there products suck ass. Just cause their pro team is the best, doesnt mean you get to buy the equipment they use(Look at Cr and Candides pipe skis)

^Yeah, the main problem with Spaceframe is that Salomon doesn't mill their cores, they inject foam into the shell of the ski causing air pockets which is why pocket rockets always snap in half all the time.

Yeah, I had salomon Xfrees and they snapped in half right in front of the left binding. Straight from the top all the way down to the base. The only thing holdin em together was the base and edges.

spaceframe makes sense mechanically, and yes they would be a lot stronger if they milled the cores, but they would also cost a lot more. the grindplates on the rossi's make sense if you are skiing a lot of park where you dont really need edges a ton, therefore you dont blow an edge and screw up your whole ski. and yeah the grip tape on the candides came off as soon as i took them out of the packaging

the plastic tip on the older 1080's wasnt that bad, it helped the ski not delam....although it did pop out. i would say the rotating binding was really dumb.
