I agree that the glaciers are eventfully going to melt but I think you’re minimizing the "little bit" that we are speeding up the process. The earth may go in a climate cycles but that unnatural "little bit" is going to cause thousands of species to go extinct, render millions of acres of land unusable for agriculture and cause a epidemic of famine and diseases through the world poorest countries. Predictions may just be predictions but when they come from the vast majority of scientist they probably should be taken seriously. We can make a difference by conserving what we can and supporting change in global energy consumption. I’m fine with peoples ignorance is bliss approach to the whole subject but its getting to point where the argument that this whole global warming thing is cyclical so we don’t need to worry about it , is starting to get old
well, if you live in a place far away from the coast (i do) and your mountain is high enough to handle a little warming (like my home mountain is) to still have snow, theres not much to to fear.
glaciers are maybe overrated, of course they are important for a few animals and stuff, but in fact, most of them were measured the first time around 1850. back then there was a small period of very low temperatures. so were comparing to a unusual cold period in most cases when referring to the sizes of a glacier.
i would say that global warming is a normal thing. we just can hope that were not pushing it more than what our planet can handle.
and one thing, al gore didnt use correct numbers all the time. for pointing at the correct graph you wouldnt need an elevator. its just show to sell more.
sell more, a good point. as long as you can make money with this "green" thing, it seems hard to me to believe that all this guys are just working for "our planet".
