the word bagel? I have always heard it said "BAY-gull" but today this girl pronounced it "BAG-gull" like a bag. Is that second pronunciation a normal thing in other parts of the country.

i'd never heard it pronounced any other way besides bay-gull until on the chair last week this girl was like 'i'm as toasty as a bag-gul in a toaster!' i didn't think she was serious but then she wasnt laughing or anything so...yeah kinda laughed at her. then felt bad.

when we were looking at U of delaware, the girl said you can get Bag-ulls here, and my parents started cracking up. its just a certain accent
