Festivus

Well yes folks, today is December 23rd, also known as Festivus. Don't know what festivus is? Here is some basic info:

Festivus is on December 23rd of each year.
Anyone can celebrate festivus
Festivus has 3 primary parts:
1) The Pole
2) The Airing of the Grievances
3) The Feats of Strength

The Pole: Not a tree, a pole. No decorations. Tinsel is very distracting from the true meaning of the holiday. The pole is tall, silver, hollow, long, skinny, and heavy.

The Airing of the Grievances: This is the part of the holiday where you tell your family and friends all the ways they have disappointed you during the year.


The Feats of Strength: This is the time during the celebration where the head of the family tests his strength against one lucky person. Festivus is not over until the head of the family is pinned. You are allowed to decline only if you have something to do instead.

Last night, I wrestled my dad. It was fun, I eventually pinned him then we drank beer and aired our greviences while sitting around the pole.

Yes, last night was one of the best Festivus' ever at our house. We got tanked and the airing of grievances got so heated that it lead straight into the feats of strength, where I smacked the old man around and pinned him down in quite a timely fashion. Good times were had by all.

unfortunately my airing of grievances has been done in the breakroom at work 2 years straight now...and has almost gotten me fired on both occasions. I took apart a clothes rack too to make a festivus pole. I was unable to do feats of strength because apparently in the retail world that's known as "assault"
