I just bought my new outerwear for this season( snow pants and outer jacket), but I bought burton pants and a bonfire jacket, yet I didnt realise til I got home that it was all snowboard brands. I dont really care to much about brand names, but dont you think its a little weird that alot of skiers dress like snowboarders, and that when you look for ski apparel you usually are sent to clothing that would make you look like a 80 year old skiers or a skier in the 70's. I think its sad that ski brands dont really make clothing ment for looking "cool" in the park, but some ski brands do. Also has anyone ever been to a park ski only shop where they only sell park skis, me neither.

nah man wear what you want and dont let anyone tell you differently. I mean id much rather give my money to a ski company then a snowboarding one but its hard because my shop doesnt carry to many ski brands outside of Orage and well.....thats it. kinda hard for me to buy shit online when i dont know how it fits. So snowboarding gear gets my money for being the most accessable. Other then that, if you like what you wear tell everyone else to shut the fuck up

There are plenty of ski brands that make good looking clothing - e.g. orage, avalaan, SMS, saga, Lethal Descent - the list goes on..

There are also definitely core ski shops which sell only freeride hardgoods - e.g. Jibij

You need to remember that the type of skiing talked about on this website still only makes up a minority of the ski market.

Therefore it is illogical and generally financially stupid for companies ONLY to produce or retail gear targeted at this market UNLESS they can gain a significant market share, which only very few can.
These few are the only companies which you see today which can successfully market good looking gear to the audience. The others try and fail, and get blown away with the rest of the startup companies who don't succeed.

D-Structure is a prime example of a company who restricted their products to the small newschool market and went through tough times because of the narrow product lines.

i have two burton jackets and helly hansen pants.
wanna get an aeryx or helly suit for next season.

I got Burton pants and jacket this year, only because it is good quality for a good price, and the new Team Fit finally fits the way I like it. Nice and baggy without being short and fat, because for some reason all other companies cannot wrap their head around the fact that most people are not 5'5'' 400lbs.

it's just a brand name really. they all make outerwear, that works no matter whether you are skiing or boarding (obviously) and they all have pretty similar styles. i bought a Ride toque (beanie) and people are always asking me why i have a Ride hat when i'm a skier, as if i give a fuck who made my hat. it's a nice hat, i like it, that's all that matters. anyone who thinks otherwise is a (fill in with your own explicit insults).

I've got 686 pants and I love them. The fact that i got 20k waterproofing on pants for 100 bucks makes it all that much better. anyone that wants to give you crap for what you wear isn't worth your time anyway.

I rock a LTD edition Burton Jacket i got for 65$ at the end of the year sale at my local store. So legit, don't worry about it. Only Company i can't see skiers rocking is Grenade, don't know why. They seem like snowboard only. Never have seen a skiier rocking thier jacket.

what does it really matter what you wear?? i mean i could care less what anyone is wearing i mean as long as you have fun doing what your doing thats all that counts, am i right???

like i have an oakley and a sessions jacket but when i go to another park besides my home mountain park i wear my "target" brand jacket cause i like to see the looks i get and then im all like "what are you looking at, just cause i dont spend thousands of dollars on ski gear doesnt mean i cant shred" its fun....
