Yo guys, just share some NS love for him

2 weeks ago (Christmas) he felt super weak so they rushed him to the hospital. Found out he was anemic and pumped 5 pints of blood into him, and diagnosed him with leukemia.

He started chemo a few days ago and was in a lot of pain.

Today his lung collapsed and wasnt able to breathe, but fortunately they responded quick and were able to blow it back up.

Anyways, just thought id pass the word. keep him in your thoughts.

hey guys...chemo is going well, just found out cancer cell count is 25% which mens i wont be rapid early release, but no big its still above average. if this keeps up i should be released from the hospy on tuesday and continue on with pills and out-patient treatment ut at least ill be sleeping in my own bed. thanks for all the love!

o and in more recent news there is no cancer at all in either blood or spinal fluid which is a huge progress boost

Hey man I'm really glad to hear you're doing better. Good luck on all the shit you're going through right now.

On a lighter note. I see your home mountain is in Washington. They're a medical marijuana state. So if you smoke the wonderful herb you can do it legally! At least as far as the state is concerned.

++++ vibes from all of ns, you'll be in my prayers for sure.  skiing will probably be your best motivation, keep your head up and stay strong you have many years ahead of you and you'll be back on skis in no time but somttimes we have to go through hard stuff like this so really good stuff happens later on, everyhting happens for a reason its my theory in life. Just remmeber you have a lot of love coming from the ns community, your family and friends hope you have a fast recovery!!

got the most recent blood test back and it came back negative!!!!if all goes well i will go home tomroow night...i will still have to come to the hospital almost every day for treatment but at least i will be able to sleep in my own bed...unfortunately a minor problem has come up recently. because of the steroid(prednazone) i have to take it has bascLLY made me diabetic so i can eat whatever i want, but i will still need to poke and take insulin wit every meal for the duration of the steroid treatment...luckily it is not a huge setback and shouldnt affect me too much.

feel better man, that shit sucks but youll get better. a friend of mine had it junior yr and went through chemo and all that shit, now he's traveling the world living it up. keep your head up man!

Im sorry for my ignorance on the subject, but because your/his tests came up negative, does that mean that chemo has destroyed all the cancer cells? I really don't understand the disease. Keep up that optimistic mentality man, and keep fightin!

just got off IV for the last time, i am going home this afternoon!!!!! im coming in every thursday for spinal chemo for about 5 hrs but other than that its all out-atient work....just lay low and try and beef back up..ive lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks and have little physicl strength but a good nights sleep at home and lots of good food and illl be healthy in no time...ill keep the updates coming....o lil info leg hair is starting to fal out and im planning to dye my hair purple b4 its all gone...maybe ill get up some pics up

sorry about the leg hair man but definately dye it purple, most of my leg hair has gotten pulled out by my boots when buttering but thats freakn great that youll be getting home, kick back make yourself a ustream for newschoolers to call and ask about chad! and just enjoy it. glad your out hope you stay healthy and cemo goes well. get better, + vibes forever

hey guys lifes pretty good now i go in for the usual treatment thursday minus the usual spinal tap, just a quick biopsy of the tissue and marrow....some of the meds im on make your gums and tooth enamel weak so i had a special dentist appointment today and that went well, but i had to take 6 big a capsules beforehand to protect my gums and that really screwed up my stomach making a grand total of 14 pills and capsules in one meal, but that after a few hours it got better.....had a good night so far, big dinner and ive got quite the food baby goin on but tomorrow is a pretty mellow day and were planning to go out and do some shoping and im lookin forward to it.

as a family we were going to go on our annual winter trip to see my grandfather in denver and go to vail and copper, but because of my condition my mom and had to stay here...luckily my dad and sister made the trip, and had a blubird day at both copper and vail on sunday and monday...i got lots of pictures and stickers so i was siked. we have already made plans and it looks like i might even be able to fly out the end of this season, and if not i def can next year.

hope you guys are doing well, im in good health and heart, keep on stormtroopin' NS

I had Leukemia too when I was a kid.  If he needs anybody to talk to I'm more than willing to help.  Best thing to do is stay by him as much as you can and make sure he stays positive.  Knowing I had friends and family there for me really helped me stay positive, which in turn helped me make it through.  All the kids I knew that had it that died, were constantly depressed about their situation.    He is going to go through some things that you will have no way of ever understanding.  Keep him positive and happy.

yo man, i didn't see your responses here. great to hear you're doing so good. i was in a similar situation. got out of the hospital pretty quick.  you still have a really long road ahead of you unless chemo has changed a lot since I went through it.  Fuck, those spinal taps suck dick don't they! I was alergic to normal anesthetics so I had to have them while I was awake and watch them pull out and stick that fucking needle into my spinal chord.

definitely keep skiing as much as you can, that and staying positive is what got me through it. looks like you got both down pretty good. I had to miss skiing for the beginning too. be careful once you start again since you'll probably have low blood counts, i got really bad altitude sickness when i got to the top of the mountain.

again, if you need a survivor to talk to feel free to holler.


oh, and fuck the doctors if they tell you not to ski cuz you could hurt yourself and bleed to death. we all know us skiers would rather die skiing than from leukemia anyways.

i had a 2 week gap in my chemo and i got a blood and platelet transfusion and i went skiing! yayyayyay! anyways i only did like 5 runs and no park but it was sick. bluebird day and like 25 degrees. i was stoked.

a kid in my school tom quinn was diagnosed last year around christmas with leukemia, and as far as i know he is in remission, it was a tough process for him but he got thtough it...add him on facebook or something im sure he will share advice or just will help you out
