dont huck so hard, let your head follow. i know its hard, but the bigger you go with them, the easier time you will have. chances are that you are either not looking, or are looking up, hucking and just spinning in a blur and landing. spot your landing, that way you are looking where you want to go, and therefore your body will follow. vwallah! problem solved

just make sure you get a good solid pop. and at the beginning don't look down, look over your shoulder so that you don't set the spin off axis and get backseat. it used to happen to me sometimes.

keep your trailing arm in front of you. If you spin left, kind of punch your right arm in front of you. It keeps you more forward, and even if you do land a little back seat, you can pull yourself back up.

just get a good pop off the lip as somebody else mentioned and set your spin. Make sure to be patient and don't pop or start spinning too early. let us know how it works out.

when you go bigger don't huck it like a pencil 3, just try and use your head to lead the spin and be sure to pop. once you try it, you'll realize that they're easier and smoother when you go bigger

I had the same prollum a couple years ago dude. I say you're prolly going off jumps that are a little small for a clean rotation...that was my problem when i would land a little backseat...Just go a little bigger and so you can rotate around and lean forward into the landing. The faster you spin, the more likely you will sit back like that...get a little bigger and slow it down a bit. It just takes some balls to go real big with a spin for the first couple times. It only gets easier ;)
Good luck! Keep huckin

I didn't bother to read all the other comments so I don't know if anyone else said this but I was landing backseat sometimes on my 3's at High North and McDonnel taught me to spot uphill at 180 and then turn my head and shoulders the final 180, made my 3's much smoother and stalled out and helped me stay much more in control of my axis.

Line 69 has already said the trick that worked for me. I'm glad someone told him though, I had to find out on my own. By doing that you will definately improve your style because you kinda stall when you do it. Also, on jumps with more lip you tend to get backseat when you spin more easily than on flatter takeoffs. You'll know you're doing it right if you can kinda remember what it looked like at 180 when you spin. As you do it more it will just become natural and it won't seem like you are slowing your spin down. And go bigger, it makes it easier.
