Mount Snow - Dew Tour setup is huge

They have been working on this for at least a week, maybe 2. Most stuff isn't fully built yet but there is going to be some MASSIVE jumps. There is a really really dope looking big ass step up and enough snow for some stupid huge jumps below that. Looks like its going to be sicker than Breck's course. I don't know what they'll have for rails, you couldn't see from the lift. Hopefully the weather will be a bit better than the last stop.

I don't have any pics. Not much to take pics of really just huge mounds of snow, only one jump was fully built (the step up). The step up is very very similar to the big ass step up at Windells this summer, maybe a bit shorter but pretty damn close to the same size and style of set up. People are going to be going OFF!

The pipe looks fucking perfect also. It looked so damn nice today I was definitely salivating.

Honestly I highly doubt they will leave jumps that are that big up for the public. I'd be willing to bet they'll push the lips in a bit and make them a lot smaller when the Dew Tour is done and it gets opened up.

That sounds sick. I sure hope its better than Breck, I thought Breck was super weak. The whole wind factor always makes Breck shitty, and I thought the rail choice sucked, especially at the bottom.

I think most stations advertise national broadcasts in EST. Especially if the event is being held on the East Coast.

The trail its on actually has a pretty damn nice pitch. You could definitely salvage some speed if you fuck up.

I went up today and ive been there the past few weeks...

Pipe is prime. Solid as shit. It is short though, probably only 3-4 good hits. Dumont will probably get 2.

Slopestyle looked dope from the chair as well. All i could see was the step up that was described above, a BIG ass trap box (could be a rail, it was hard to tell). there was also an up box.

Gulch, mineshaft, and nitro were dope too.

it'd be amazing if they left it up..i mean they used to have basically all huge features in there but none even close to as big as the shit that will be in there other then the 80ft back from like 02- 04....but like stratton takes down their setup and always bitch how its such a huge insurance hassle to deal w/ kids riding it

that is what it says on the website...and everyone i asked at mount snow said it was able to be walked to and that you did not need a lift ticket.

It is walkable but the course is long. The bottom of the course ends at the Carinthia base. You don't need a lift ticket.

yea breck was weak, icouldnt find the skiing on tv but i watched snowboarding

jumps werent that big and rail choice at the bottom was terrible

yes, they run cats during the day, but they are very safe and have responsible drivers and no one has been getting hurt from a snowmobile or cat.


althought, my friend did get run over by a patrol man and a sled with someone in it...


but ive heard the same as everyone else from the park crew/gaitor and his team. they're leaving the park how it is and maintaining it throughout the season. its the XL park. they may make some features just a tad smaller, and take precautions like closing the trail on real icy days, but otherwise its open to public.

the run ends at the base of carinthia, its right next to the pipe too, but from the bottom you can only see the last jump and maybe a few others above but not much. however, carinthia may be closed for parking. i havent heard anything specifically so dont quote me, but the top half of the parking lot was closed this weekend and im assuming they're just going to have more event people arriving this week. they may still have the bottom half open, but that's very little space compared to the number of people that are going to be there. you may have to park at main base and either take a chair and a run over, or take the mooooovers, which may require a ticket. you can always walk....but its a decent walk.


and for an idea of how big this stuff is, as you go up the double chair on the right side of the trail when looking up the mountain, you can see the jumps thru the trees on the left. i have literally never seen a bigger mound of snow...ever. the jumps/landings are all well over 50ft above regular ground level with the stepup landing close to 80-100ft high. they've blown so much snow that if moved around right at the very end of the season, they could have snow thru june...or later. pipe lasted them until the end of may last year, and inferno has waaaaaaay more snow then a pipe.

True, but these types of accidents are due to an incapable skier not being aware of his surroundings. Plenty of mountains do it but you cannot deny how dangerous it is to have a cat on a slope with skiers/snowboarders who may be on the slopes without much knowledge. A gaper could easily come mossing over a knoll or around a corner not expecting to see a cat; usually newer skiers aren't going fast enough to get themselves into too much trouble though.

oh thats deff true. but the other kid was saying that he wouldnt be surprised that they leave the setup how it is and open to the public because they run cats and stuff. they're careful about it but yeah accidents happen. so far luckily nothing has happened.

thurs: prelims/practice


fri: mens ski slope, concert in festival village

sat: mens n womens snowboard slope, mens ski pipe

sun: mens n womens snowboard pipe


no womens ski events are mentioned on the little thing i have that they were handing out or posted at mount snow

I mean its obviously going to be crowded but how often to you get to see Rainville, Tanner, Henrik, Gagnier, PK and more throwing down in person on the East Coast. Never. Well obviously a few of us seen T-rains killing it here...
