Best Paint for a Rail

I was curious what you have personally found regarding paint and rails. I made a rail out of steal copping from woodward, and i wanted to keep it from corroding. What type of paint works best for you guys on a metal rail??

if u slide it enough, the paint will come off, so the only color will be on the sides and bottom of the rail. unless you repaint every mounth

yeah man srew paint. just worry about the sides. if you paint the sliding sufrace, the paint comes off and gets all over everything.

Put a coat of primer on before the paint, just to keep it extra safe, then you can use pretty much anything.

I like rustoleum, but really and outdoor metal paint will work

there is this one rail at this ramada inn, and the paint doesnt come off.


I was thinking spray primer would be good to prevent corrosion if the paint did chip

maybe because they mixed in the paint with the iron steele or metal of the rail when they were making it

fuck paint, if you look at any resort's rails there is never any paint on the part you slide. buy a circular wire brush that can be used in a power drill and just buff the nicks and rust out once in a while.
