  I understand that the Cardinals are playing much better football right now than they have throughout the course of the season, but favoring them over the Eagles?  Give me a fucking break.

  The Eagles absolutely demolished them on Thanksgiving.  We're talking a 28 pt. victory where the Eagles physically dominated throughout.  This season, Jim Johnson's defense surrendered less points in a 2nd matchup (or 3rd in the Giant's case) to any team they played more than once.

  The Eagles have beaten the "best" team in football twice....this year...on the road.  Oh yeah, they also smoked the other "best" team in the Pittsburgh Steelers. 

  I won't break down the entire match-up, but here are a few things to keep in mind going into next week:

    1.)  Despite the "reemergence" of James, the Cards are essentially a one dimensional, pass first team.  Granted, they are an incredibly talented one dimensional team that sports the best two WR tandem in football.  Unfortunately, the Eagles have an amazing secondary led by two pro-bowlers in Asante Samuel and Brian Dawkins (not to mention Sheldon Brown who is probably the best tackling and most underrated CB in football).  The Eagles will double Fitzgerald, and make someone else beat them.  Fitzgerald will get numbers and a TD, but when doesn't he?  The Cards inability to run the football (let's face it, if the Giants, Vikings, and Steelers can't, they can't) against the Eagles will make the Cards predictable and allow Jim Johnson to turn the dogs loose.  Which brings me to point number 2...

   2.)  Kurt Warner has an arm, and is a seasoned pro who competently runs the offense and rarely makes mental mistakes.  The problem is, his numbers are inflated after shredding the pitiful NFC west all season.  The Eagles present the toughest challenge in their front seven's ability to pressure the QB, creating sacks, and turnovers at a higher clip than pretty much anyone.  Jim Johnson is licking his chops at the opportunity to dial up blitzes against a QB with cement feet.  Kurt Warner has zero ability to escape a ferocious pass rush.  Worst case scenario, Kurt gets beat up, takes sacks, and forces throws and gets picked off.  Best case scenario, Kurt gets beat up, throws the ball away, or hits check down receivers for minimum gains.

  The Cards aren't as terrible as they were made out to be two weeks ago, nor are they as good as some are now saying (Bill Cowher is officially high).  Honestly, anyone who is saying that the Cards will/should win with confidence, either knows nothing about football, or they are just a fanboy/Eagle's hater.  The Cards CAN win, absolutely.  On paper, the Eagles win hands down.....but that's why they actually play the games.

as a giants fan im obviously in a state of terrible feelings. the eagles, while obviously yes they beat us, did not play "good" football by any means, and if u think the eagles or the cardinals are capable of stopping baltimore, well, then please, place bets now so that i can make more money since this is going to be an AFC superbowl

  What constitutes good football?

  They controlled time of possession, had two 4th and short stops, converted more 3rd downs, controlled the line of scrimmage, and won the turnover battle.  Most important stat of the Eagles/Giants 3 game series this year?  The Giants sacked McNabb exactly 0 times.  The Eagles offensive line absolutely dusted the Gmen.

  Because they didn't have a 100 yard receiver, and Westbrook didn't avg 5 yds. per touch they played "bad"?  Go back to playing fantasy football.  In the NFL, the team with the fewest mistakes wins. 

  This was a CLASSIC and typical NFC east showdown...either you have amnesia, or you are too young to remember other Eagles/Giants games.  At the end of the day, the Eagles played a more physical game and completely set the tempo...one that the Giants couldn't match today.

  Whatever the circumstances are, the bottom line is that the Eagles beat the Giants twice in the Meadowlands.  If rationalizing that the Giants gave the game away or that the Eagles didn't deserve to win makes you feel better, that's fine, but don't talk nonsense.   

  As far as the Ravens go....they're excellent and peaking.  Any team will have problems with them.  The Steelers are also an excellent football team and shouldn't be counted out.  The Eagles should beat the Cardinals next week, and if they do, they actually match well against either AFC team.

  The Eagles beat up (literally) the "physical and tough" Steelers.  The Eagles trailed Baltimore after the 1st half by a field goal, and went on to get embarrassed after benching McNabb in favor of Kein Kolb prior to the 2nd half.  This loss proved to be THE turning point for their season as they've went 6-1 since.  I'm not saying the Eagles are a lock for the Big Dance, or that they'll win, but to say they have no chance is stupid.

  I don't really know why I'm bothering to give an in depth argument, as you're obviously just a fan boy and a hater.

Eagles win the superbowl, their defense is just as good if not better than the steelers with jim johnson calling the shots, and with McNabb playing like he always has, and the eagles 5th nfc championship game in 8 years i beleive this is the year they finally get the superbowl title, hey the phillies won the  world series how about the eagles win the superbowl?

nevermind, a quick wiki search tells me that the burger went 13-0 as a rookie but lost in the playoffs, then went to the superbowl in his sophomore campaign

first off, the pats belonged more into this than the fins, i didnt see anything in the dolphins game against the ravens that the pats wouldnt have done ten times better. but thats the system, ok.

titans had to win against the ravens and the way the game went they probably should have won, but again, thats football.

but san diego? ok, the steelers were probably a touch better but the way they made it is just not nice.

this kickoff-to-helmet, i mean, how unlucky is that? just 7 points that shouldve never happened.

than this fli-fla-fluky interception. comon, there are millions of possibilites that this ball ends up incomplete and what happens? its intercepted. and i thought it touched the ground like the jackson catch before but to be honest it was difficult to tell. another (at least) 3 points that the chargers were about to make and 7 that the steelers couldnt score.

i mean, the chargers defense was probably too bad for a championship game... but their offense got 2 unlucky turnovers so they couldnt score more than they allowed (which they were absolutely able to do imo)

right cause the 17 seconds that the chargers had the ball in the third quarter were such great football... seriously, the steelers mopped the floor with them.
