definitely going to be interesting this year, throw up your predictions for this week or the whole deal if you like!

as an eagles fan, i am ashamed to say that i have very little confidence in them. i think this week we beat minn, but it will be close. atl over ariz, indy over san diego, and miami over baltimore. t3/4 wildcard teams are looking really strong (bal, indy, atl) look real strong but i cant have them all winning week 1 lol

what do you think?

I say the winners of round 1 are, Indy, Baltimore, Atlanta, and I hoping my Eagles beat the Vikings, but I promised myself after that last game against the cowboys that I will not get my hopes up.

the eagles will fail against the vikings, nobody can beat us int he dome in the playoffs

i was going to call atl over ari...cuase matt ryan is awesome but never mind on that one hah

Indy is on fire right now and i think they are the most balanced team in the playoffs and believe they have the best shot to win it all, though i want the chargers to win

i want to see miami beat baltimore

but i'm rooting for the vikings all the way...Vikings vs. Colts superbowl.

hahahaha that will never ever happen, if the vikings do actually make it past the first round, which they wont, theyre gonna get rolled on in the second round by the giants. they have absolutly no chance against any good football team

if the vikes win they will play carolina, no 1 seed always gets lowest seed left (ariz), but we know that wont happen;)

i was very surprised by the cards today, they actually played defense for the first time this season. also, as usual, fitz and boldin were nasty

THE FACEMASK DOESNT HAPPEN IF ONE OF THE TWO BULLSHIT DEFENSIVE HOLDINGS IS NOT CALLED THE REFS GAVE THE CHARGERS THE GAME. THERE WERE 2 DEFENSIVE HOLDING CALLS IN 3 PLAYS, THERE HAS BEEN ABOUT 2 DEFENSIVE HOLDINGS ALL YEAR IN THE ENTIRE LEAGUE

it obviously was a facemask and i'll give them one of the defensive holdings but if one of te defensive holdings doesnt happen the facemask doesnt happen and rivers had some questionable times when he threw the ball away.

But the NFL needs to switch how they seed for the playoffs. It should be the best 8 teams from each conference. B/c the colts should have been playing at home and allot of other teams should have been in the playoffs that didnt make b/c they have a tough division.

ok...thats bull shit....they just played with the giants real well last week and won...yes i know they took out eli in the second half and the giants played with out jacobs...but they still did great against them the whole game and did pretty solid against bradshaw and ward...you have to pass to beat the vikings, so i don't see the vikes losing tot he eagles, or the giants....its the Vikes vs. Panthers in the NFC championship.

There's so much wrong with this post, I don't even know where to begin. 

1.) How could you walk away from the Giant's game and honestly say that was a legitimate, confidence building win?  NY had zero to play for.  Nothing.  There best back didn't play, and the starters were yanked after the 1st half.  Granted, all wins in the NFL are valuable, but come on...you can't cite that W as support for your opinion that the Giants don't pose a threat, that's just stupid.

2.) You say "you have to pass to beat the vikings"....ok....you're playing a pass first offense this week.  Andy Reid passes first, then runs the football to chew up clock... as he always has.  Reid is criticized at length due to the lack of balance in terms of play calling.  The Eagles have begun to give both Westbrook and Buckhalter more touches out of the back field of late, but frankly, it's just made them more dangerous on the edges.  The Vikings have a very good rushing defense, I believe the best statistically in the league.  Unfortunately for them (and you) their secondary is soft.  Not to mention, the Vikings stats are inflated as they come out of a miserable division in which they play the fucking Lions and the Packers twice each.  The Eagles defense absolutely and completey shut down AD last year and are third in the NFL in total D this year.  The Eagles are also third in the league in sacks.  Jackson is a young, inexperienced, and marginally talented QB who at one point was backing up fucking Gus Frerotte.  Jim Johnson is arguably the most important defensive minded coach in the NFL over the past decade, his blitz packages and disguised twists, and bizarre looks will give Jackson fits.

  Look, the Vikings are a good, young football team with arguably the most dominant player in the league.  Unfortunately, they are essentially one dimensional and are going up against an experienced, hardened, and talented football team who snuck into the playoffs out of arguably the best division in football.

  Obviously you're a big fan who wants to see his team win, but don't take that fanboy stance and ignore all logic.  Any team can win on any given Sunday.

  Last thought:  You guys didn't even sell out a home playoff game....in a dome.  That is truly pathetic.  The commisioner had to extend ticket selling in order to try and prevent a local blackout of the game.  That is some sorry shit right there.

very well put, the eagles are a solid team, and yeah i am rolling with the fanboy approach here, which there should be nothing wrong with that...but i do know a thing or two, and logically i do believe the vikings will beat the eagles in the dome, the vikings are used to the crowd noise, and the way the turf plays (though everyone gets an advantage from it.)

but like you've stated on paper, the eagles will beat us any day, brian westbrook when he is on is the man and will eat up any defense no matter what, donovan mcnabb is very experienced in this situation and knows exactly what to do (plus hes pretty much my favorite qb ever).

i like the eagles, just when they aren't playing the vikes and hell if they beat us thats who i want to see in the superbowl.

so i guess there wasn't really any good info coming out of this post. ha


to switch it up a bit....Go Dolphins!

I missed both games yesterday cause I'm in a 24 hour car ride, but I was able to watch the raven fins game today, and the ravens look really good. I think it's clear that miami is pretty mediocre (especially when they have 5 turnovers), however hats off to them for the +10 turnaround and making the playoffs. Would have much rather seen the pats in cause I think they could have played well against Baltimore, but it wasn't meant to be.

after both the chargers and the cardinals won I've given up on trying to predict the NFL. That's what makes the NFL so fun (and frustrating), is that any team can win on any given sunday and the game isn't played on paper with stats.

congrats to the eagles great game, that 70 yarder by westbrook took us down, and the fact we couldn't drive during the second half, oh well it turned what looked like a nothing season for the vikes into something to look forward to next year.

the eagles are hot and their defense looks great, the giants are in for a good one...i would really like to see the giants repeat though, after everyone saying that winning the superbowl last year was a fluke...its going to be a good superbowl this year though, the teams are pretty much evenly matched there is no power house.

They have been playing tough, if the Steelers can manage to pass block in the playoffs i think they will do good. Cause right now their defense is just too on point.

steelers will tromp san diego, and then will have a great game with baltimore and triumph, the super bowl goes to Pittsburgh. that's not what I think, that's just what it will be and nobody will stop it.

the ravens shouldnt have won yesterday. when they had the ball on their 1 yard line flacco stepped on the line twice which would have been a safety. also it was 3rd and 9 and the play clock ran out nd they didnt call delay of game. that was on there game winning drive too. also this is coming for a steelers fan and i wanted the ravens to win because we would have home field advantage.

Yeah I posted that after the saturday games so I didn't bother typing out the indy and arizona game.  And I originally had indy in the superbowl and arizona loosing  to atlanta so those picks are a little misleading and not that impressive haha.
