my friend has a shit load of song on his comp and i wanrt them, how do i gi about getting them to my new one, firewire? usb?

burn the mp3s to a few cds. You can fit a few hundred on each cd i think.

Yes, this will sound very dumb but...

How do you burn a lot of mp3's to one cd? My program just adds up the 80 min length max and wont let me go past it - so I only burn about 15-20 songs.....

theres multiple ways to do it. To do it using DirectCD just format your cd as a direct cd and drag all your mp3's onto it just like a floppy disk.

Or you can use Roxio or any other burning program and start a new project. Make a DATA cd. Then just put all the mp3 files on as data. Click the burn button.

dude just go with USB2, its faster than firewire (USB2 runs 480 mbps whereas firewire is 400mbps) Plus USB2 is a lot more conveinant than firewire

no, dont go with USB2. It's real-world transfer speeds for the most part top out around 250-300.

Get firewire 800 if you have a mac. now that is fucking fast.

if you have a mac just connect the two computers with a firewire then reboot your mac while pressing t. the drive will pop up on the other computer and you can transfer several gigabytes is just a few minutes. way faster than burning to cd or setting up a network
