so recently firefox has been running especially slow with NS. I installed all the ad blockers and cleared cache but I can't seem to find out the problem. it is quicker for me to open safari and log in than it is for NS to log in alone on firefox. its quite frustrating. Any suggestions...? Help would be greatly appreciated!

switch to safari? orr try spotlighting everything firefox related, from prefs to bookmarks etc., delete them all, and just start over again
i think you can export your bookmarks before you do that tho, so that might be good if you have some important ones

Google "Speed up Firefox" and follow those instructions ONLY if you're on a broadband connection.

i would agree with everyone else on just switching to safari. i was having problems with firefox especially on NS. i loved firefox and really never got into using safari, but i switched anyway and i haven't had any problems so far. so join the crowd and make the switch. NS is so good on safari.

This is a problem with the latest update, where even on PowerMacs and G5's it bogs the entire system down. It should be fixed pretty quickly (hopefully) as Mozilla has undoubtedly been informed of the problem a million times.
I'd also suggest using Safari until a fix comes out, quickest and easiest fix.
