09/10 Line skis are F***** up

I went up the lift with some stranger who talked to me about next years Line skis ( he works for SIA). He told me Line has been developing this technology for almost years and it will blow your mind. He told me next season Line will have an eperimental ski, like the Alpha 1, (eperimental wise, not the same contrtuction at all) that is not conseructed vertically, but constructed like a skateboard. I'm not in expert in ski consruction, or skateboard, but when he said the had no sidewalls, I started to smell BS. He said that this new concept will give more tip and tail pop and flex, and will be lighter and better then normal skis. I think this guy is full of it, but he said they would be shown at the 2009 SIA, so I'll just have wait and see.
It blows my mind to think it's true

sounds like they are bringing back the "chronic blend". 90 under waste with the equivalent sidecut to the chronics would be sick. like 116-90-113. i cant wait to see these designs. when is SIA?

Oh and one more thing, Eric showed me pics of all his skis for next year (claim) and they look sickk. Graphics on all of them are kinda similar to the 07/08 Bacon, like the collage type deal. But a little more colorful.

One thing I could ask for though is a longer Bacon...mhmm.

i saw the 2010 invaders today. they have the skateboard style horizontally laminated core and have no sidewalls from what it looks like. just a delicious sandwich of wood, epoxy and ptex.

i still dont get hwo a ski cant have side walls, like i cant picture it. Are theyre any skis out there like that?

they have to be different than just sandwich construction right? because sandwich constructed skis dont have "Sidewalls" i am also curious to see this new construction.

No, I don't think there are, that's what would make this concept original to skiing. I can't really grasp it either, but people couldn't grasp lots of other innovations in skiing, so we'll see how line does.

Lizzys still only come in a 172 irrc, But the SFB will be available in a 172. And the graphics on the SFB, Lizzies and EP are HOOOOT! Best ever imo. Line is really stepping it up. It will be interesting to see how the new laminate technology holds up and how well it performs.

they should have the lizzys in 182 also


cuz not everyone wants rocker. my sfb's woulnt kill it on groomers if the tips were flopin all over.

Can't wait! Too bad there's no way I'm gonna get new skis next season seeing as I just picked up a pair of SFB's this season. Oh well still stoked on them beyond belief.

What the fuck has line done that is so technologically advanced?????? Seems to me that they make cheap cap construction skis with cool graphics that sucker kids into buying their cheap products because they look cool, and say they have all this technology.

But seriously, it is ridiculously ignorant to say that Line hasn't done anything technologically. And every ski they have other than the invader/anthem combo is sidewall...

Lots of homebuilt skis dont have sidewalls. Instead the core just extends out over the edge where a sidewall would be.

Please post those pics!!!

I study industrial design in Delft (Netherlands) and I am watching how I can get some patents on 2 innovative ski designs I am thinking of last months.. When I heard about this thread I started to searching everywhere but I cant find anything.. So if somebody has ANY real info, details or helpfull pics on these new designs by line please send them to me or post it here!! If their designs dont look like mine I might be able to get it patented..

you have to admit although they were a complete failure the reactor binding was very innovative and had/has potential. another good example of LINE being ahead of the curve was the advent of the 1260.
