yeah start with a good fitting boot,
and try to have enough money for them where, your not worried about how much your spending. but keep the boot fitter thinking you have a small budget so they dont sell you 600 $ boots when some 400 $ ones woulda been just as good.
then i would suggest talkin to a shop about a ski setup if you really dont know what you want and cant narrow it down to a handful of options.
I went for the anthems, for a beginner like me I think the perfectly symmetrical ski will serve me well when skiing switch, theyre pretty flexy but still a bit stiffer than invaders from what I hear (mostly cause theyre wider though, I believe, but dont take my word on that) and because theyre wider (93 underfoot, was it?) they should hold up in pow as well...
