Are Chronics right for me?

Basically, i'm looking for a ski that would be playfull over the mountain, and do pretty well on the groomers. I've searched the site and most agree the chronic is a great ski, but i have never seen anyone ask about it who is 120lbs like i am. i'm probably not going to be able to butter to easy, but i would guess it would hold a good edge on groomers and decent pop for the park. also, i'm like 5' 4.5'', so i would probably get 166cm and mount -2 from center.

Right now I'm skiing Octolands/Anthems all over the place. More flex then the Chronic and they don't have a sidewall. The other day, I chased gates when I was just playing around. It really depends on how much flex you want.

i skiied the chronics for a season in the catskills, def a really nice all mountain ski that can still hold it down in the park. you right, buttering won't be easy, but they hold an edge good and are very manouverable in the bumps and the trees. skiied variable conditions well, from ice to slush to a little pow, absolutely no complaints, ski held up fine. good pop in the park, def not too heavy.

a good pick if your looking at 60%-40% all mountain park or anything in that region, should hold up fine in jersey.

good response ^ yeah i'll probably ski like 60% all mtn 40%park or 50/50, and i would assume i'll put on some weight and height, as i'm only 16. buttering isn't the most importan thing anyway, although it is cool.

anyway, 166cm at -2 sound good, or should i do like -3

you def dont want to go more than -2, otherwise you'll be waaay back and unless you plan on never going switch you don't want that. it will also mess with your swing weight a little. don't think that you have to mount it back to rely on good all mountain preformance, you could do center and still be okay. it all depends on your preference, but at 166 you shouldnt go more than -2.

Get 166 chronics mounted -2 and you'll love em. Best skis ever made.

Chronics sound good. Also you could look into Suspects, last years foils, ar6, or k2 extreme.

I weigh like 130 and I have the 166's, you have to throw them around pretty hard to get a decent butter, but they're great all over the mountain, I love em.
