Any trustworthy shops in L.A. to mount skis?

I went to Ski Net Sports in studio city because they are recommended here as a bootfitters and they did a good job mounting my ghetto's, and were really nice guys, but they charged alot.  It also seemed to me like they had the "new guy" mounting my ski's which pissed me off a little but he did a fine job.

Recently I went to Doc's Ski Haus on Santa Monica Blv. and Berkeley (Just take Santa Monica exit off 405, head towards the beach, and its on the right with a big ass sign).  I went there because they quoted me literally half as much as Ski Net for binding repair (charged me $20 so basically just the price of the brake with no labor cost, and Ski Net said $40).  I have to say it is really awesome.  The tech guy I talked to was like 100 years old and did the fix in about 5 minutes.

They also had the best gear selection I've seen, and are the only shop in LA I've been to that carried Full Tilt's.  They also carried the Salomon Suspect gloves which I really wanted to buy but could not find anywhere in LA at the time I was getting gloves.  There were a ton of people in there and yet I was in and out in 10 minutes.

So yeah, bottom line they will be the only ski shop getting my buisness from now on.  If its closer for you Ski Net is a good shop with knowlegable and nice staff, but I would go to Doc's it will probably be cheaper and they are a bigger place, seem a little more legit.

I've been to ski net sports.  BUT, they do charge an arm and a leg.  I remember get a quote for $65 to pull bindings and plug the holes.  But, they do a good job at taking in request as far as specific mounting points and they are very knowledgeable.  I was just seeing if there are any other options. 

I may hit up Doc's ski haus.  I see it all the time when I go drinking at Busby's across the street.  

I've also heard about Sports LTD in Woodland Hills. 

I don't trust Sport Chalet as I know a couple of people who said that their mounting is jacked up from them.  In one instance, one of my friends noticed that the screws on his toe pieces kept turning meaning that when sport chalet mounted it, it was stripped and they didn't even helicoil it to fix it.  When he went back to them to point it out, they said that they did it right and my friend probably tried taking off the bindings and put them on again.  BTW, this sport chalet is the one in La Canada, which is supposedly the most trustworthy techs out of all the branches.

Call up Val Surf in Valley Village. They guy that works the ski dept is amazing. They gave my skis the best tuning they have ever had and that says a lot since I work at Footloose which is the best overall ski shop. I'm not sure how much they charge cause I got it done free, but they are usually pretty resonable with everything else.

My local Val Surf works on snowboards only and I assumed all the rest of them were the same, thats interesting.

My local Sport Chalet (Santa Clarita) has a really good tech who i've known for a little while, but the wait on any work is like a week so they might as well not exist.

Who are you people? I worked at Val Surf in Valencia for two years, know Gary at the Valley Village shop that worked on your skis. Also worked in the tune shop at the La Canada Sport Chalet about 5 years ago, worked at Footloose tuning skis all last year. If those weren't the best spots, I wouldn't have worked there.

I live in Valencia and when I called and asked if they work on skis they said no, only snowboards.

I tuned skis when I was the tech there. Nobody left knows what they're doing. You don't want to go there anyway.

You are quite a smart fellow. You picked some great places to work.

Tune shop or bootfitting is all that's legit.
