Bring back turntable bindings!

As questioned here: https://www.newschoolers.com/web/forums/readthread/thread_id/403627/ And mentioned here as a possibility(video 2): https://www.newschoolers.com/web/content/news/news_id/2319/ I want CoreUPT to start re-producing turntable bindings. They appear to be in the right place at the right time, with a working relationship with Quiksilver and deep pockets. It seems like they shouldn't have a problem purchasing the molds for the turntable bindings and making them again. It also seems like enough people would buy them to make it a viable business decision. If you would like to see these bindings make a comeback, please take a moment and contact CoreUPT, just to let them know you want the bindings brought back. My hope is that they will see this as a solid investment and make the decision to go ahead and make them. I also said I wanted wide brakes, so that would make them easier to put the skis people are skiing these days. They mentioned that it was a possibility, so with a little consumer input I am hoping they will take this path. Shit, sorry about how it didn't paragraph out like I thought it would. I forgot to include that we want turntable bindings, they said Pivot in the interview, so make sure you let them know it's along the lines of p18/p15/fks185/fks155.

Race bindings that used to be released by Look and Rossignol, with a heel that rotates around the piece that is mounted to the ski. Such as: Click for larger image Click for larger image Benefits are that they are very light for how solid they are, they provide very smooth releases, all the key components are metal, and the mounting pattern is very short, providing minimal interference with the ski's flex.

i dont think rossi is planning on bringing them back.. and the reason they were discontinued was because the heel piece moves back and forth slightly when clicked in so a set heel piece provides better control of the ski without side to side movement

i decided to hop on the trend this year and i have to say they are the best bindings ive ever riden. extremely solid and just super smooth releases. there is deffinatly a reason people like them

i straight shattered the heel and toe piece at the same time on axail 14's today...my knees are more durable than those bindings....Bring back turntabes!!!

i think it had something to do with the skrilla, i know that the Look PX12s or wahtever the last turntable bindings were, the reason they stopped was because it was all metal (cost a ton) and the moulds or some shit were hard to produce, i bought two pairs the last year they were available but now my second pair is starting to break down so yeah id love to see another one come up

The mold broke and cost too much to repair.  The forward pressure is always finicky and i guess the racers arent too down with that.  Thats what rossi says officially though

they also had a really narrow mounting pattern, and rossi came out with a new type of race plate that didn't attach to the FKS.

i've got a pair of the old semi-turnable power 140s and they're pretty bomb too. heavy though.

i have my look p18s for three years now and they have nerver released for nothing super solid binding best ever and for the wide ski answer you have to brake one stopper off of each binding, so they can fit  i have them on my 2008 PE and work perfectly but yeah a think the price canadian was around 350 and 400 $ pretty expensive soo much worth it though

I'm sure you can find these used anywhere racers are selling their stuff because i have a buddy who races on them and he has had all kinds of problems with them sometimes he couldnt pop in other times the dins wouldnt turn up and the worst part is the forward pressure its terrible and the skis fall off like crazy because of the binding

if anyone's arguing that px's are more durable than the turntable series theyre just wrong. simply put px fixed heels are the worst bindings ever. I have to wear bandanas on my boots to prevent my skis from flying off if i spin relatively fast. BRING BACK THE TURNTABLE

because in the event of a forward twisting fall they were absolutely useless. the new px version allows for better release and will save your knees better than the fks/p did. are they durable? yes they are but so is the new version.

will you see them back again? probably not. there's a reason they stopped production, why? i don't know but for the retail market the new heel is safer and just a durable.

i may be wrong on this, but aren't the new 15-20 din rossi bindings have an almost all metal heel, and eliminate a lot of the problems that the 12-14 din that everyone has?

could someone explain breifly what was done w/ the newer 15-20 din rossis? i have heard from tons of people that they are a very good binding. just looking at them, they look much much beefier than the older ones.

You're thinking of the old pivot bindings. We're talking about the full metal race stock bindings with the full turntable heel that rotates 360 degrees and shoots lasers out of the toe piece.

The px is shit for park. It pre-releases at the slightest hint of rotational torque on landings, and the forward pressure system can't keep up with the flex/rebound of a stiffer ski so half of the guys who tried to ride pipe with them were pulling them off in grabs every second hit. Pre-releasing is not "safe" at all.

No, the FKS/ p18 was not totally perfect, but it was probably the closest to perfect for a park binding, that's why you'll see most of the rossi and dynastar pros still riding them, even if they have to beg race departments for old used ones.

Someone needs to buy the design or re-design the pivot and bring it back.

Depending on racers for R&D is why companies still come up with bindings that suck for park. Sure downhillers put a lot of impact and force on a binding, but they don't ever land switch while rotating, or have their skis go through the same type of rebound that park skis get in tight transitions.

i have four pair of fks and two of the newer axial xxl the all metal ones... the newer ones are definately the burliest thing available now but nothing will compare to the fks!

I haven't seen or heard of a 20 DIN model, but yeah the toes are the same as the p/fks 15,18/155,185. They're all metal with no vertical release. And the heels are all metal. Even the little sleeve that encases the dildo that is plastic on the px15 and other lower models is metal on the px18.
I'm on px14 race bindings, and I couldn't be happier with my bindings.

I bought my Look pivots 4 years ago and they have seen 3 different pairs of skis, park, and pow and they are still going strong.

But I heard from a shop owner that they were discontinued for many reasons, one being that park skiing was progressing to where the pivot bindings weren't as solid as the new ones for switch landings.
