alright, I'm looking to buy my very first twins and I would like some help here. I'm 5' 11'' about 160 and am looking for an all mtn. twin. I need something that can do everything (I ski on the west coast at mammoth so I do ski powder.) I don't know what size to get. I'm thinking around 170-176 and am looking at skogen's, PE's TM's or mike nicks. Oh yeah I ski about 50/50 park and all mountain. Any help would be great.

1. don't listen to Operation Ivy unless his dumbass is joking

2. DO NOT get the mike nicks - not enough ski for you

3. how good are you out of the park? if you like to haul ass the 1080 or tm might not be stiff enough for you (i haven't skied the tm though) pretty much any twin will do you good, just decide between stiff or soft and wide or thin.....you might be better off with a fat ski at mammoth

15 i think is what i saw on another thread. im sorry ahead of time to the guy who started this tread but i need to say somthing. operation_ivy, yoy are way to young to know anything about that band. they broke up in 1989, you were probably 2 years old when that happened, please dont name yourself after them to try and impress people so we would all be like 'ooooh he knows about op ivy, he must be PUNK!!!'if you listen to their stuff then thats cool, but seriously change your name now.

to the guy who made this tread, if you like park and all mountain riding, id say go with the PE, good in the park, and not necessarily park specific like the new K2 fugitive. and an added plus is that the waist is a little wider than some other twin tipped skis. thats just my opinion.

good point, plus im not trying to get you to care, i just want you to know that you are a total poser, its obvious you are in the whole punk thing for the image. nobody who was really punk would put a comment on their profile that said 'if you like good charlotte i will kill you' seriously why do you care if someone thinks you are punk or not, thats the whole problem with the punk scene nowadays, its a big image contest. now im mad, thanks op_ivy

I would say go for some telemark skis. I think that is the direction you should go, and the new twin tip telemarks are sweet. Free your heel, free your mind is what I always say.

you need to figure out what you want in a ski before you start asking what ski i should buy. i could tell you to buy v explosives with a micro lifted twin tip - but its the fucking stiffest thing in the world. or i could tell you to buy some noodley lines. see what i'm saying.

the only advice i can really give you is to go fat. you may feel reservations about doing this (i did before i bought mine), but there really is no need for skiing skinny except for skiing groomers or competition moguls. fat skis still ski grooomers fine and still ski moguls well, it just depends on which model you want.

i put down 90 days last year on my pocket rockets, and i worked in jackson hole sports, right on the mountain - i know what i'm talking about if you have any other questions drop me a line.

DON'T BUY A SKI JUST CAUSE IT HAS A DOPE TOP SHEET OR BECAUSE A DOPE RIDER USES THEM.
