Sperated shoulder/ ac joint

I seperated my AC joint late in last season, I also have a pair of fucked up shoulders, and what you should do is train the shoulders alot, and buy yourself a shoulder brace or whatever its called. FYI: Rehband works really great.

The injury is going to hurt for like three weeks or so, and then the pain subsides alittle bit, and you feel kinda fine but not really fine:P But the pain will last longer if you don't train it. 

You shoulder may also disolacte easier than before because of the muscle damage. therefore you should buy a shoulder brace.

Also, its important to move your shoulder alot so your muscles dont thigten up, because thats supposed to hurt even more! Don't remember what its called, but "dead shoulder" or something...

This is written on my experience of the injury, i had some more damage aswell, I also tore the muscle that goes from the shoulder to the neck so that made me struggle with an annoying neck for like 6 months:P

But to wrap it up, Its probably gonna sting for quite along time, and reduce this time by training. Talk to your doctor about a training program.

Oh, and your collarbone is gonna be poking the skin forever and ever:P and you probably look alittle bit crooked^^

yeah I broke my collar bone last year pretty bad and it stick out and not it does on top of my shoulder.. still really swollen also

go do some physio until you feel you understand how to properly work out a shoulder, then hit the gym a lot.

i found that the key for working out the shoulders is doing everything SLOW AND CONTROLLED. for example when you are doing raises, do them slowwwwwwwwwly, hold, ensure full extension. You're better off using VERY LOW WEIGHTS with higher reps.

Also, you're going to want to work out your upper-back, so do lots of rows, pulldowns, etc...

I separated my shoulder 2 years ago pretty badly, my strength is back to 100% but it still makes some of my lifts a little awkward (presses especially)

pretty sure this has been the most popular injury of the season so far.

seperated my AC like first or second degree and i could ski like a week after but wasnt trying anything in the park because i knew if i fell it would mess it up but now im pretty much 100 percent better and im going back to play my first hockey game in like 4 weeks this friday. but yea i found that the constant pain went away fairly quickly but when you make direct contact with the shoulder or you make a sudden move that causes you too stretch it, that pain takes a while to get better. good luck on a quick recovery.
