Crazy Fool

This has been done before back in the day, but it kind of failed. Try again...

So I have seen a bunch of threads in the last few weeks asking for desktop stuff, and I though we could all find features we want if we have a ton of different desktops to check out. Mine is pretty simple, just a rocket dock with Icalendar lite. Basically I love the Mac layout, but I need XP for work. Looks like this normally:

I also have the stack docklet on it so that my files just pop up (that is my pictures on the screen). You can change it to fan out and stuff too, but mine just pops up in a box:

Post up yours! I have a tablet PC, so I was hoping to find something that I could put on the desktop that I could handwrite quick notes on. I know there are post-it applications, but I haven't been able to find one. Maybe there is something similar.

alright then

now, this only applies if all your using is rocketdock, as in, no start bar on the top or anything, or else that defeats the purpose

when you have a lot of windows open, with object dock it won't show them unless you yourself have minimized the window

this can create some problems, as if you multitask a lot ( i do ) and you have one window open, then open a couple more, you have made yourself a trap you can't get around, becuase the only way you can get to the back window is to minimize or move the ones in front, which is annoying and takes up time

with objectdock EVERY window that you open shows up beside your quick buttons, so if theres something in the back, you just look at the bar and its there with an icon to show

unless they released an update for rocketdock, defiently switch to objectdock, asap

and if that was confusing, sorry, its kinda hard to explain

ah well i use a windows taskbar on the side so yeah i'll just stick with rocketdock for now, thanks anyways though.

yeaa see now if there was no taskbar, youd be in a pickle

i used to use both, rocket for just shortcuts and then object for openwindows, top and bottom of screen, but then i had to force shut off my computer and for some reason that messed up rockeddock hardcore, and it opened up next time i started my computer with nothing in it and a different theme

but yea, i just use object now cause its less stuff on the desktop

This is where I get allllll my desktop backgrounds from, definetly one of my best bookmarks ever, and i think i'll be nice enough and share it with the rest of NS

definetly check it out, even if you just got a new background, theres hundreds on here that will get you stoked

oh, and they come in EVERY size, all high quality and new ones are put up regularly

you can barely see it but im actually in this pic...my roommate isnt a very good photog so he didnt frame it up well, but im in the middle there...you can see my red glove and the top of my helmet and the tip of one ski coming out, im just being buried by the epic amount of pow we slayed that day...the end of a 3+ footer storm last season

well it published even smaller than i thought it would...click it though, it'll be nice and big then...this was one of my favorite pics from last season but im definitely gonna get a bunch of better pow shots next year now that we've met a good photographer

dock is on the left hand side.

It's a program called Rainmeter http://www.rainmeter.net/

which allows you to add things to your desktop such as internet usage, CPU usage, date, clock, etc.

I have a skin for that which is called HUD.Vision and can be found here -> http://customize.org/rainmeter/skins/58074

Thats not possible, but you can take a picture pressing (apple shift 4 space) and click on the desktop and it only takes a picture of the desktop itself.

ya it is, mang. check my desktop (campuseverything) a page back. i got no background behind my dock and nothing on the desktop. click on finder in the toolbar then preferences then uncheck "hard disks" under the general settings.
