How lousy / gross are rental boots?

Clean or nasty? I vote semi-nasty, ill-fitting, and not so pleasant to use.

Lesson- skis / boots *do* get lost in transit.

Ski boots as a carry on. Boots are the worst thing to lose, it's easy to cop a pair of skis from a friend or rent a pair, but losing boots can really ruin your skiing.

Cept for tele, if you loose your boots or skis, you are kinda fucked since you rarely ever see places rent legit tele skis.

yeah, you can always go buy another $500 dollar pair of boots and then sell them here for $100!

seriously dude, hope you don't have to buy another pair... try and make the airline pay for your expenses.
