Yes the Wells family are religious. If I can recall what a friend told me that is friends with the Wells the stickers come from some Asian food product and the reassemble the letter so they spell out 'Jesus'. Can't remember what it originally spells but its something like Susje.

it's just sort of lame.

lol, not to be a total hater, and not that my opinion matters at all, but that's about all I can say about it.

Ski/snowboard specific brands are alright, even kind of cool, mainstream shit like redbull and monster is pretty weak, and stuff like Jesus that is totally main MAINstream is pretty whack, if you ask me, just in terms of how you're representing what you mean on skis.

I admit that the term "TEAM JESUS" is my own invention. But in an individual sport like skiing, JESUS sticker wearers (which I have been noticing on the hill quite frequently this winter) are much more a team than other brands' "teams." For example, Hall and Dumont are teammates strictly by virtue of their allegiance to the Oakley trademark. TEAM JESUS isn't just a sponsorship. To the insinuation that it is, Jossi's younger brother (and fellow Jesus sticker affixee) replied, "He doesn't pay me, but He lets me go to heaven when I'm done." Thus, the sticker is an emblem of membership to a global team, skiers and non-skiers alike, bound together in this life and in the great hereafter by holy christian brotherhood.

 I don't know why love for Jesus is something that needs to be advertised.  Shouldn't someone's relationship with God be personal?  It sort of comes across in a pretentious "Hey, I'm a role model!  Kids need to know that Jesus is cool!" kind of way.  Creepy.

 By all means, practice/belief whatever you'd like to.  However, if you've somehow convinced yourself that you're doing God's work through stickers, bumper stickers, etc., you're a clown shoe.

 It just seems completely inappropriate.  Not in the "stifle religious freedom, we're a pagan nation!" way, but wouldn't it seem odd or out of place to wear a "Free Palestine" sticker on your helmet...during an EXXtreme skiing event?  Maybe they're both good causes, or maybe they're silly, either way I'm not really a fan of advertising highly personal things in such a brazen way.

Perhaps they want people to know that they are christians. I mean, people will gladly represent sponsors by stickering everything, wearing everything ever produced...etc. Not saying that Jesus is a sponsor, they just might like to represent. Or maybe they like to incite conversation...

Jossi wearing a Jesus sticker because he likes Jesus is no different than you wearing an NS sticker because you like NS.  I don't think it's necessary to voice your opinion on someone's religion just because he skis.  He is awesome, and so are his little brothers.

I would say that it slightly different. The people wearing rasta colors are wearing it mainly because the colors look cool, not because they belong to that religion. It's not like the wells brothers are putting Jesus stickers on their helmets because the stickers are cool.

I wear rasta shit to distinguish myself as a pot smoker so if someone sees me in the woods they'll say "Hey that kid has a ratsa hat on.  Wanna puff?"  For me their is no religious affiliation.

I think the issue people are finding here is that they are coming across as being preaching. And when wells' bro says something like "He will let us in heaven for this" it just comes across as ignorant and ill-educated.

By all means they should sport it. Everyone should be free to sport what religion they believe in, but there's a thin line between being open in what you believe in and preaching.

I agree. I would never presume that my relgion is so righteous that I should try to convince others of what I believe. Thats my only problem with stuff like their Jesus stickers. I have no problem with Jesus, I have problems with people that glorify whatever it is that they happen to be doing as being God's work. In short, its more the attitude of the followers than the religion that bothers me.

yeah i think youve come close on this one, like the NS sticker its saying "this is what i like/believe in so anyone else who is like me feel free to come up and talk to me about it" im reasonably religious myself and i wear my cross whenever i ski and though no one sees it if you see me wearing it off the hill it shows what i support. its like those "vote obama or mccain" stickers you put on your car to show your support, some people will get pissed of that you dont vote/believe in what they do and others will say "hey this guy is like me" but when it comes down to it if you dont like it then dont talk about it and dont preach your beliefs because they dont want to hear it (if you dont have something nice to say...you know how it goes) i respect jossi and his brothers because theyre not afraid to show what they believe in and its cool how "team jesus" isnt really a sponsor but a way to unite people who believe in Him all over the world together as a team...that was slightly longer than i hoped but you get the idea
