Replying to What skiing really matters...
Lately i've found myself wondering exactly what i look for in skiing. I've realized that over the years my views have changed dramaticly as far as what tricks i do, or how i conduct myself on the hill. I used to try to go bigger than the next person, being successful 50 percent of the time, but really scaring myself and taking away alot of the fun from skiing. tonight,December 5, a 9:35 pm, i find myself sitting at my computer trying to comprehend why i do what i do. People say im obsessed, that i need to get a life, or whatever. What they don't understand is Skiing is my life. My self expression, my style, the way i dress, ski, grab, carve, act talk, everything is because of my love for skiing. I've found tonight, just playing aorund on the 1 trail we have that just finished getting dumped on by snow guns for the first time in our hills history, that skiing isn't about 1 upping someone, or hucking and seeing where you end up. Its about what i wanna do. IM proud to say my favorite trick is any type of 180. Big or small, preferably big, with any grab i can think of. 5's, smooth fakie tricks. Just flowing around. It just makes me feel good whenever i can go out there and ski for myself, at my own pase. I think thats what makes u a better skier.
Thanks for listening, and keep on Rippin'
