2 questions DVD and Editing

1st Question:
What editing studio do you guys use? Im thinking about getting Adobe Prem 6.0 whats this like? What do Johnny n scott Gafney use?


2nd Question

How do you, or what program do you need to be able to capture segments from a dvd to computer, i remember for example people wanting the song, ICE by L of happydayz, and they would get the dvd and get it onto there computer somehow? it was the same with Bad Man, by Beenie Man on stereotype..

you can record audio off DVD so easy on a comp. just set the recording setting to sound card output, then open windows audio recorder, record what you want while the dvd is playing, then convert the wav to a mp3

Premiere is pretty good but Final Cut Pro 4 is the best. It's the only non-linear editing program, plus it's got all the Soundtrack and LiveType shit included too. Final Cut Pro 4 is equal to Adobe Premiere+Adobe After Effects, plus more.

^ not entirely true. All computer editing programs are non-linear. Two-After Effects has features that FCP 4 or for that matter 10 when it comes probably wont have. Final Cut Pro is an excellent program, but saying it does the work of Two adobe programs is a little grandeous
