SKI PATROL MARATHON

Its on all day on truTV.

the episode on now is at BLUE MTN and some kid got pulled over for going to fast and then later in the episode he broke his nose and needed help. pretty shitty show but if your bored then give it a watch.

just go down the marked slow areas real fast and then when they tell you to stop actually stop instead of whizzing by them. seems like all they do is sit at the slow signs and tell people to slow down.

and is that show always taped at Blue or do they travel around.

haha i mainly just tried to sneak into shots in the background, didnt want to risk getting my pass jacked

it was only taped at blue and some mtn in washington....

to the other post the blue which they filmed at is in PA, but apparently there is one in canada as well

i fucken hate that show its so boring and they show no action cept for ski patrollers blowing there whistles and shit. i mean i respect patrollers but there just on a huge power trip for the most part and huge dicks at this mountain and doing it just cause there on t.v.

Wow this show is terrible, not only does it make ski patrolers look like huge dicks but its horrible scripted. Ski patrolers, at least on the west, are way chiller than that.

it truly is a terrible show but i do get some laughs out of it. mainly from the patrolers sitting at the slow skiing areas. i've never seen anyone do that. maybe it's not that big of a deal around the midwest but it certainly is goofy.

the show might be lame, but in all honesty if you're being a dick to a patroler then you deserve what you get.. and whether you want to admit it or not they are the "police" of the mountain talking back to patrollers is just fucking retarted.

yeah i go there aswell its funny to watch cause i know the trails and stuff they are on and everything. and yeah they can write you a ticket for going to fast in a "slow skiing area" but i have never had any trouble there.  i think it was mainly cause they needed to do something for the tv show haha but normally they aren't dicks like that

yep. I ski at crystal and the vast majority of patrollers are super chill. I raced for several years with the kid that stabbed himself in the neck with his pole and I've skied with him outside of that a few times the past 2 years...they make him look super badass when he isn't that amazing. and they make the patrollers look like heroes.
The way they described it was super funny when the jump really isn't even all that big and he was only trying a 7.

Fuck ski patrol - the TV show.

yep, i ski at blue mountain, and it really is that ridiculous. my brother actually got a 'speeding ticket' on one of their double black trails. the show makes it seem like all they do is pull people over for skiing too fast, which they do, but definitely not at the frequency they do on the show. for the most part, the patrollers stay out of the park because a good majority of them can't even ski that well.

I'll go ahead and say that I was on the patrol at Blue Mountain last year and a lot of it was total bullshit.  Such as...finding good people to make a scene to "pull over" and chase, or the camera guys getting all up in your face and that naturally making people overreact to everything.  The part that I signed up for, the medical aspect, was totally real, if not understated. 

They did the best they could to portray the patrol in a good light, but theres always assholes at any mountain you go to, that will yell at you for the stupid stuff.   Most of them are just out there trying to keep their mountain a safer place, and you'll appreciate the work they do when your stuck lying on the snow freezing and hurt.  They leave you alone if you leave them alone. Easy as that
