Looking to buy either Scratch BC 188 or Seth Pistol 189.....think this is took big for back country kickers or should it be ok? Anyways, i am about to get one or the other which one is is recommendable

I'll say it again. There's no comparison in construction. There's a reason that BC's are on every closeout shelf in the country and dookie prices. The pistols are a better constructed ski, better stiffness, better base material....
The only thing I like about the BC's over the Pistols is the topsheet. My .02 cents

i'm 5'11' 180lbs. We had a over a foot of powdy at stevens pass last week untill it rained on friday. these things are unstopable!!! i spent last year on the enemy's and the scratches and some time on inspired's none of them are even comparable!

i've got the bc, they are really on the goom slope, in powder, graphics are nice, maybe not as the pistol, but the nicest things, is they are lest expensive

why those skis. either (a) you're a tool and you think they look cool or you like the pros who ride them or (b) you want a ski with mad float, a sick turning radius and you want it soft for stomping comfortable landing. so why not pocket rockets? you want sick graphics - check. you want dope riders (um candide? peter olenick? dorion? cr? (although he annoys the shit out of me). listen i put 90 days on myine last year. you can go anywhere you want in pow, they are dope in the bumps, they are moderated for grooming (you want a groomer go to vail and buy a pair of atomic c9's and a tampon) and not to mention they will stomp the shit outta landing in pow. i loved mine so much that i bought a second pair. i skied scratches and i din't like them as much it just didn't feel as good, they do carve better because of the side walls. the pistols are fuckin soft you can put your elbo against the ski and put your hand on the tip and you can flex it just like that.
dude join the pocket rocket team.if you think they suck then you haven't skied them. if you wanna look like an ill pro buy some armadas.

^word. I bought my rockets about a year ago and found them to be the most rippin' ski out there. There isn't any terrain I haven't found them to tear up and shoot down without putting up a fuss. They're kick ass ski. Graphics might still be the same but if your buying a ski for how it looks then your priorites are fuckin' wrong.

The pockets have a robot on them how are they even comparable to the pistols? Fack the rockets get the pistols, foam vs sidewall wood. pistols will last longer, dont jump on the pocket rocket bandwagon as millions have.

Pocket rockets are possibly the worst powder ski out there. I maxed them out on my first run at squaw, they are floppy as shit, watch any movie, and you'll see their riders get thrown around like Cuban refugees in a hurracane, and they have spaceframe 'technology' which is short for 'lets take all the strength out of the ski in key flex points, and put it all under the boot, which doesn't flex at all.' I have personally seen two pairs snap in half on small cliffs, and heard about countless others.
Ontop of that, they are blue, and have a robot or something on them.
-Buy a real ski, half of Salomon's original team started Armada for a reason.

ski mack doesn't know what he's talking about. i skied at jackson last winter, trust me i've seen those things maxed out both on myself as well as tons of other people. if you wanna do mach 5 get some super nobisis, but ski mack this kids looking for a back country booter ski, check any video and you're gonna see a lot of them.

^shit, I got so caught up in my hate of salomon I forgot what the kid wanted to use the skis for. PRs are gonna be your best bet for backcountry kickers next to the seth pistol which has a higher tail for landing fakie.

i've got the bc's i really like them, float super nice and turn really nice, they have the same turning radius as any skinny twin so they're quick and super versatile, they work for me, and yes i had the pistols last year, liked them but they weren't quite for me. not every ski will work for you so demo some and see what you like
