Seeking advice/critiquing on my photos...:)

Hey ns, this is a continuation on from a recent thread of mine about my photography. all the photos are taken in queenstown from my property after 9 oclock at night. i would appreciate any advice/critiquing you may be able to offer. peaceClick for larger image

nice job, some of the fence/field ones in the middle were pretty plain, but overall you have some nice shots.

Yeah I'd tend to agree but that is not always a bad thing.  They can always be adjusted in Photoshop - bit of level adjustment sometimes works to make them more vibrant.  I polarising filter might be worth thinking about as well.

Personally I think the 4th picture down to would look better in black and white than colour.

Otherwise excellent work (and some surf shots would be cool).

hey man i like your shots, like someone else said get your sensor cleaned if you can, and picking up a blower thing wouldn't be a bad idea, i use one almost everytime i switch lenses, and you can also get rid of those random spots in the sky etc. with tools in photoshop or lightroom. small details but sometimes those stand out the most. but otherwise shots look tight, and surf shots are always sick to look at. mind if i ask what your camera setup you used on those shots is?

theyre nice. but theyre also nature shots, which is looked down upon by a lot of photographers unless youre amazing at it. but like i said, theyre nice.

you have a dust spot on your sensor though and it bugs the shit out of me. probably will annoy anyone else who spots it too seein as its on every one of your photos.

hah yeah the dust spots were annoying as hell. dw i noticed them straight away. i used a few of these and cleaned those up but couldnt be botherd doing the rest for this. i appreciate the feedback thus far. my goal is to learn from these sorts of nature shots and then to incorporate the ideas and persepectives of these into skiing photography.

And to the person wandering, the camera is a cannon Eos 5D

as previously said dusy speck is annoying but
good pictures anyway. big fan of the b+w

and man what i would give to live where you do! what an amazing view an
atmosphere waking up there everyday must be amazing and inspiring.

also do you receive any snow there?

There isn't a face palm great enough to express my disgust with this statement.

Clean that sensor.  If I had a 5D I wouldn't allow a spec of dust near it.

^^^ haha, not that i'm defending the ansel adams statement by any means, but i think alot of people just think 'oh neat, like ansel adams' when they see a black and white of almost any landscape

thanks to all the feed back from everyone, its sick

and yes we do recieve snow there, fairly often, in the background of some photos is coronet peak and remarkables ski fields which are some of nzs biggest
