Canada hate in NZ??

I just finished watching episode 5 of salomon freeski TV ("Girls in NZ") and at the place they weant bungy jumping they had a sign that said No Canada( well it was a canadian flag with that circle with a line through it)

Is there some kind of NZ Canada hate that i have never heard of before or what? just curious.

I dont know how we became so angry towards Canadians. Basically in NZ we have "canadian" jokes where canucks are the always the butt of the joke, either because their accents are strange or because of their supposed lack of intellect. At least 15% of the jokes I hear are of this kind. Some are pretty funny though. And when i was at Snowpark watching TJ and Kaya they would always get booed going down the pipe. TJ was the only pro I've ever seen snowballed in the liftline repeatedly.

I went to NZ this summer, i didnt see or hear anything about hating canadians... know what bungy it was? i jumped off the nevis (2nd highest in the world i think), didnt see anything like that there

That's crazy! I knew Aussies were chill with Canadians, and that there was beef between Aussies and Kiwis, but I didn't know with Canadians. That was unexpected.

i always thought they were cool with eachother too. im aussie and i spent a year living with 3 canadians and 2 kiwis.. everything was fine and i never heard of any anticanadianism. kiwis and aussies have a bit of rivalry just like canadians and americans do, but its usually just harmless jokes

Its because Canada is to America as New Zealand is to Austrailia. New Zealand and Canada are similar in that they are outcasts to the better country in their region.

They probably get compared to Canada a lot and hate it. They probably have a rivalry because they both think they're the better outcast country.

Poutine, maple syrup, the twintip was designed by mike douglas who is canadian, along with the New Canadian Air Force, who basically invented park skiing, we have amazing heli-skiing, revelstoke, Red Mountain, Colby West, Armada was started by JP and was first produced in a factory in quebec, Kaya Turski who is basically the next big thing in girl's skiing, Chris Turpin, Whistler, British Columbia(if you don't think BC is sweet then you have never been), COC, Momentum, the whole west coast area, and a flag that we can wear in foreign countries that does NOT double as a bullseye.

Don't EVER insult Canada on newschoolers without considering the fact that it is pretty much the birthplace of our sport.
