You do tail butters and after your done pressing you feel your shin burning. Its a weird feeling in the calf and the shin. It also happens with nose butters, and its kind of irritating me because i would really like to get good at presses and butters, but not when it starts to hurt. Anyone know what the problem might be?

if you are wearing straight up wool socks or short socks it maya affect it, if you have leg hair it may get twisted and yanked around..... unless it rrreally hurts then its prob not your socks

its cos when you do tail butters you are right back in the boot and causing the very reason for shin bang. imagine your bone and muscle in your shin being seperated each time you lean too far back, then when you shift your weight to lean into the boots again it hurts cos your putting pressure on the injury. the bitch of it is to try and stop it hurting you will naturally lean back more. its a viscous circle!

haha, well i cant wait to get through this circle of hell. so what ur saying is just lean back a little bit more normally and it will stop naturally.

nah dude, you wanna do the opposite. it'll hurt like shit for a while, it might be worth taking a couple of days off to rest the shins

Alright I see what your saying now. I'm going to rest the shins for 2 days and then I'll see what happens.

Lol, yeah we're not the only ones man. Do a search for shin bang and you'll get a million results. I got it bad now dude. It woke me up and took me an hour to fall back asleep last night. I'm gonna try swapping in my softer tongues and take a break from skiing for a while.

sounds like some shin bang,,, ice up after skiing make some of the potential swelling go down
