What is a hippy?

does a hippy smell bad? does he leach off of society? does a hippy understand the workings of society?

is it wrong to care?

if you are pro sustainability and want to see change, does that make you a hippy?
if you act against "the man" because what "he" is doing is unmoral, does that make you a hippy?
if you eat shrooms, does that make you a hippy?

our society is too full of hate towards others and we're too quick to throw labels on everything and everybody. it's like a highschool where if you don't agree with the majority you're an outcast subject to ridicule.

when the dude at the party who isn't drinking is the one getting harassed, there's a flaw somewhere.

i didn't take it as an insult. I just find it weird that people throw labels like that around...

it's like when people call shit "gay" 'cause they either don't understand it, don't like it, or are just afraid of it.

I wonder if any of these people have met a legitimate hippy. first off, i don't think they have computers, so chances of finding on on the internet is pretty much zero.

people who don't shave, use man-made chemicals in any aspect of their life, often smoke ganja and eat shrooms despite standing between trees and chainsaws, don't drive cars (they prefer to ride longboards or bicycles that they built themselves), they usually don't know anything about history, and they are almost always either confused or very happy, or both at once.

I'm called a hippie at my school. It's odd, I don't dress that much different, i waer custom dress pants sewn tight, they have this one scarf that hangs of the side past my knee. its how i dress.

I dont dress like one, but I've slowed down in buying brandname junk. living a lifestyle of few sweets, no alcohal(one year come new years!!!) or carbonated beverages.

Music expresses my ideolgy. It's all the stuff from 60's and 70's. I love to get into it, and my mind has been expanded my chemicals which has gone for the better for both my mind and personality.

I rarely get mad, never fight or hit. Don't generally care what people say, if I like it, then I like it.

So, in conclusion. I've somewhat tried to moderize the hippie image.

i have my long ass hair

im not into video games, i dont party, i dont drink. i do blaze though

i wear tight jeans, band shirts and plaid.

im not gonna lie, i have been known to braid feathers into my hair and stuff.

i dunno though, i wouldnt consider myself a hippy

I still can't quite make out the point that Drail was coming across with? was it what you do or act that has people label you? Do you like this label?

I was just saying earlier that people have labeled me and my friends as hippies, just by the looks and actions. so I followed up on that

isnt a hippy a hipster? somebody who has to have all the cool clothes but they can't be mainstream cool clothes. They're in with all of the fads too right and their parents buy them everything.

starbucks is gross, but fuck starbucks. there's billions of local coffee shops that are way better. granted - I only drink coffee (no way i'm spending more than a buck fifty on a coffee - although I do have a thing about energy drinks - you can just chug that shit) so I hear some of those fancy coffee's at starbucks aren't that bad. their coffee sucks ass though. euck
