Anybody ridden the new hazmats?

the 09 ones with the full bamboo core?
all this powder has gotten me stoked, i'm looking for an east coast pow/all mountain ski for next season and haven't heard much about these.

so sick and versatile.  i ride them all the time. fat enough for most pow, but you can still take some laps in the park with em.  light and poppy, but really hold an edge on the hardpack and grroomers.  i coudn't be more happy wiht the hazmats.  i had the bridge before these, and allthough they have similar dimenisions, i freaking love the libertys more.

yeah my friend has the bridges and they seem kinda damp and dead. if i were to get the libertys, i'd use them for east coast pow and all mountain stuff, with the occasional lap in the park. the bamboo core sounds fun and poppy too. and whats the flex like? also, where are yours mounted?

they should be spot on for what you described.  i put mine at the cab-forward mark.  it seems a really good compromise for riding forward and stil going switch and spinning occasionally.  i've seen people mount dead center as well, but i don't ride the park that much on these. cab foreward seems just right.

Haven't ridden the 09s, but the 08s are the funnest skis I've ridden.  Ton's of life, great pop, ride fantastic switch, bombproof bases and sidewalls.  Just a great ski.

sounds good, did they have the bamboo sidewalls or no?

and if anybody can compare them to the scratch brigade or S5 that'd awesome

I ended up with a pair of the 08s in a 186.  I tried to sell them but failed miserably and still haven't ridden them or mounted them yet but they seem legit.  You'll like them I bet.
