I just started skiing this year (been snowboarding since 92) and picked up some cheap K2 PE's to learn on and I'm really digging it, but I want to get something better. My buddy works at a local shop, and can get me some deals. I've really fallen in love with Line's skis, especially the Prophets, and blends. I want a ski that is a good all mountain plank...powder, trees, jumps, etc...but no rail. I am 5'-9" and 160 lbs, and 31 years old, and right now I'd say I'm a level 2 and a fast learner with lots of guts. My buddy can get me some 08 Chronics for $200 Canadian, but I'm worried they aren't wide enough for the soft stuff due to being only 85mm in the waist...are they at least decent...should I just look for a ski that is at least 90mm in the waist like the Prophet 90/ 100, and the blend. Any help is greatly appreciated.
