I dont know about bands that sound like slightly stoopid but some really good acoustic is Rodrigo Y Gabriela.

i cant think of acoustic ska type stuff

the decemberists
and crosby stills nash and young

for some good acousicals

yea john butler is sick, especially his live stuff...also look at "the mountain goats"...the earlier acoustic stuff is better, from like mid 90s

Mountain Goats = soo good. John Darnielle is a genius. The albums All Hail West Texas, Sweden, The Sunset Tree, and Zopilote Machine are some good ones.

aaah these guys are so sick... i saw them on tour with slightly stoopid last year... definitely stole the show.


also, check out a band called "ballyhoo"
they are a lot like sublime... very tight
