Replying to this girl (help someone with basically no expeirence)

ok so there is this girl at school that I like alot. But the thing is that I don't really know her that well. would it be considered out of the norm to just like see if she wanted to go to a movie or something sometime? I am assuming it would but I don't know... and if so IU would like to get to know her better but I don;t kow of a good way to do such a thing withought seeming like a stocker.
