ok so there is this girl at school that I like alot. But the thing is that I don't really know her that well. would it be considered out of the norm to just like see if she wanted to go to a movie or something sometime? I am assuming it would but I don't know... and if so IU would like to get to know her better but I don;t kow of a good way to do such a thing withought seeming like a stocker.

we should just make an 'advice' thread this gets brought up so much :) anyway bro, I think it is easy for everyone to get caught up in different dating styles and what is normal, etc. If you like her you and she talks to you what is the harm in asking her to dinner and maybe a movie (I don't recommend the movie though, all you are doing is wasting time. Do something where you can get to know her a bit more). or instead of that, ask her to do something you know she enjoys. But don't be mundane, ask her to do something and she will say yes. breaking the ice / commitment to doing it is 90% of the battle.

start with something small, girls like that, it sparks an interest. say hi to her or something in school, a little out of the ordinary but not stalker-like, and not 'hey' as your running past her locker. Then a few days later do it again, and start sparking conversation. Slow and steady wins the race, you know the saying. Girls don't like to be bombarded like that. After a while talk to her online or phone to get to know her but don't IM her every day or call her every night...just like she's a normal friend, let her initiate some of it so you know if she's onto you. Then it will come with time, you'll be glad you did it that way if youre in it for the right reasons, trust me. Ask her to do something with some mutual friends, don't act different online either...that IMing crap can be risky..if you talk to her all the time but then get to the coffe shop and you don't know how to say anything...thats a turn-off.

I've figured it out...I'm considered 'such a nice guy' by all the girls I know, so my opinion is worthless.
