alright, so I bought a pair of Dukes this year. Before I bought them I looked around for opinions about them. I heard a lot of "they break when landing switch" and I've heard about problems with the screw in the middle... but as to the screw problem I was told that it's the person mounting the binding that didn't do it right to have the screw rip out.
Today was my third day (three half days) and my Dukes broke. The little lever that switches the binding into touring mode is connected to this piece of metal that actually makes the transition. Well I fell on my back and since we have a really shallow snowpack (well actually it's about two or three feet of light fluffy powder on top of zero base) when my tails came down they slammed into the ground and the piece of metal broke from the pressure. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I know I can get them warranted (which always sucks when you're three days into the ski season) but I'm just curious if this is a recurring problem.
